I don't know who needs to hear this but: You can critique the Israeli government, its leaders, the actions of the IDF & the actions of extremist settlers & not be antisemitic. If you think Israel shouldn't exist, that's a different story, but the above is fine.

I'm hopeful about a future government that is more center leaning and caters less to religious interests & bigots.
To all our friends in the United States and around the world: The Israeli people have voted for change and to replace the current government. Our democracy remains strong and vibrant. We are working to fulfill the will of the Israeli people by forming a new government as soon as possible - a national emergency government. I intend to bring new leadership to Israel, leadership that serves all Israelis. Together with my partners, we will build a stronger Israel: A Jewish and democratic Israel. An Israel that is committed to liberal values, equality for all and is confident in its future. The bond between Israel and the United States is more than an alliance between governments. It is a partnership between peoples, built over generations, sustained by shared democratic values, and strengthened by the conviction that our nations are more secure and more prosperous when we stand together. Under my leadership, we will renew and deepen that partnership, strengthen the bipartisan foundations that have long sustained it, and work with our allies to advance a Middle East defined not simply by the absence of conflict, but by the presence of opportunity and cooperation. Israel will remain one of Americaโ€™s most reliable and capable strategic partners in the Middle East, a partnership that is mutually beneficial for both peoples, in every aspect. I look forward to working closely and constructively with President Trump and his administration, whose friendship and commitment to Israel we deeply value. Together, we can advance our shared security interests, strengthen regional stability, and open new doors to prosperity for the peoples of the Middle East. That is the Israel I believe in. And that is the future we intend to build.

For the people freaking out right now: Yes, some extremists/DSA candidates won elections. No, they are not anywhere near the majority of Democrats who won tonight. There are so many moderates who won tonight that the DSA candidates will be useless if they go against them.

I don't always agree with J Street, but the sentiments expressed here make sense. They aren't anti-Israel or pro-jihad & neither is the mainstream DNC. Right wing Israel Twitter would love to convince you otherwise, but most American Liberal Jews are still pro-Israel.
Tonight's emerging election results are telling a powerful story about the changing politics of Israel and Palestine in America. Much of the conventional wisdom about Jewish voters, the Democratic Party and the political power of AIPAC has been turned on its head. Here are five big takeaways: 1. No great migration of Jewish voters. We won't have final results from J Street's biennial Jewish voter exit poll until Thursday, but early numbers I'm seeing indicate that once again Jewish Americans are voting at or above 70% Democratic. The much-discussed, so-called "exodus" of Jewish voters from the Democratic Party once again hasn't materialized. 2. J Street is now the political center of gravity on Israel and Palestine in the Democratic Party. When the new Congress convenes, nearly two-thirds of the Democrats in the House and Senate will be J Street-endorsed. These members are the mainstream of the party: committed to Israel's security and existence, to Palestinian rights and self-determination, and to a US policy that advances both. AIPAC, meanwhile, was losing endorsed candidates so rapidly that it ultimately decided to abandon candidate endorsements altogether. 3. The extremes are just that: marginal. There will be a small handful of Democrats who reject any meaningful US-Israel security relationship. And there will be a limited number of others who remain unwilling to challenge Israeli government policies, no matter how destructive those policies are. Neither represents where the heart of the Democratic Party rests today. 4. J Street's political muscle helped create space for that growing consensus. We endorsed 200 candidates for the House and Senate and invested more than $13 million in their campaigns โ€“ not just to support our candidates but to defeat some of AIPAC's most prominent endorsees. Our success tonight demonstrates the political power of a new politics that supports both Israelis and Palestinians โ€“ and strengthens American democracy. 5. Those who argue that AIPAC lost traction in the Democratic Party because Democrats turned against Israel miss the point โ€“ it's AIPAC that fell out of step with Democrats. Its insistence that support for Israel means defending its government, right or wrong, and its willingness to pour enormous sums of money into Democratic primaries made AIPAC โ€“ not support for Israel โ€“ increasingly unwelcome. Looking ahead, J Street intends to translate this new political reality into a new American policy โ€“ one that supports Israel's security, Palestinian freedom and the future of both peoples. That's the approach that represents the center of American Jewish opinion and the Democratic Party. And J Street is at its heart.

I don't condone violence like what that University of Michigan student did yesterday, but if you're online doxxing her & making fun of the medications she takes, just stop it. Y'all don't need to lower yourselves like that.

I'm so confused... Two of these guys were never Star Trek Captains & Shatner is still alive.
With the loss of Patrick Stewart, all 4 captains of The Star Trek have passed into the final frontier, living long and prosperous to pilot Godโ€™s starship.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
William Shatner is alive and paid tribute to Patrick Stewart following Stewart's death in October 2026. bbc.com/news/live/cq23

Unreal. This is one of the few celeb deaths that actually has me feeling bad. I grew up watching reruns of The Next Generation, not to mention X-Men. Patrick Stewart was such a wonderful actor, I'm gonna miss seeing him on screen.
Legendary actor Sir Patrick Stewart, best known for his roles as Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek and Professor X in X-Men, has died. He was 86.

Palestinian living under the PA & Hamas vote in Palestinian elections, not Israeli ones. Israel does not have 6 million Arab citizens. All Israel's Arab citizens were able to vote. Did Iraqis or Afghans vote in US elections during the US occupation? No, that would be stupid.
Six million Arabs were not allowed to vote in today's elections

I agree completely with this. For example, Cyberpunk, BG3 & the Mass Effect trilogy handled representation so much better. The examples are more natural, more mature & better written. Wokeslop/queerslop ruins games. We can have representation without hamfisting it.

Super sad to see, but unsurprising give the state of EA & their sale to a private equity group. I'm glad I got to experience KOTOR, Mass Effect 1-3 & Dragon Age: Origins. Also grateful for the influence BW had on the likes of CDPR, Larian & Owlcat. RIP

I find it odd that people hate on Vincent. Valerie shines in the tender, personal, emotional parts of the story. I prefer Valerie because it's really hard for me to put myself in Vincent's shoes mentally, but easier to do with Valerie. Both actors are great.
Can we take a moment to recognize and mourn Male V - he cops a little too much hate, but deserves so much love. He's my ideal way of enjoying Cyberpunk 2077 and I'm not ashamed of saying it.

It's strange to me that people cry & scream about the "militarization of police" when our police agencies successfully contain violent riots. Meanwhile in France, where the actual military is part of the police structure (National Gendarmerie) they're incapable of stopping this.
