Our findings show that while pleasure is often seen as a barrier to #sustainable #tourism, #eudaimonia is actually related to MORE pro-environmental behaviour!
A hopeful hint that our enjoyment and planetary well-being may go hand in hand 🌱📷✨

What are your #resolutions for 2023?
Ours are:
1) Conduct field experiments with our industry partners across #Australia, #Asia, and #Europe
2) Publish our insights based on objective measures of #behaviour
3) Have fun in the office😉
Tourists can be incredibly creative with excuses for their environmentally unfriendly behaviour.
Understanding how tourists justify their misbehaviour is one vital step toward improving it.

The more the merrier? Not when it comes to #survey items.
Lengthy measures can conceal item-level instability when we only measure #test-retest #reliability at scale-level.
How do we overcome this problem?

We will miss you both!
Our visiting scholars made sure to leave a lovely footprint in our office! Thank you @coopsikins & @dai_fengwei Was a pleasure to have you in our @lowharmhedonism group @UQ_Business and learn about your research. #tourismresearch #phdlife

Self-report is a core component of #social #science but can capture a huge amount of error... Developing valid, reliable tools is critical to overcoming the replicability crisis. See steps for how in the free article below!
When you ask respondents the same questions twice, will results be the same?
Probably not (blue line)
Increase scale-level reliability (to red line level) by using high ITEM-LEVEL stability questions
Time to rethink routine scale development drill

#Habits are powerful - 43% of our daily behaviour is habitual! But what about #green behaviour?
It turns out 68% of our green behaviours can be explained by habit when at home, and even MORE (72%!) when on vacation 🏖️
