Some kids have taller mountains to climb than others. We can’t climb the mountains for them, but an awareness of the mountains… reminds us of the importance of our patience and support. Some kids need us to be their cheerleader more than they need us to be their instructor.

Visit #14 of #RVSed Board of Trustees orientation tour was @RCESchool. Our student tour guides shared with us the amazing things about their school. We saw aspects of how Indigenous ways are embedded in the school, had a song played for us & even got to help with today’s Wordle

Last stop (#21) of #RVSed Board of Trustees orientation tour for the day was at @PPL_Sabres where we saw the dedicated staff in action throughout the building & how they bring their school workbook to life. Friendly kids sharing their learning with us. Good luck at b’ball zones.

In 3/4H, we are authors and illustrators! Our students are super proud and excited to share the books they have written. It was pure joy to hear this comment: “I just love writing books!”. @SarahThompsonSc

Has a teacher ever spent time with another teacher and not talked about teaching?
Because I have tried and I do not think it is possible.

A lot of teachers are stressed because their students are not where they expect them to be by this point.
They need to give themselves some grace. They can’t teach twice as hard and the kids can’t learn twice as fast.
We just take them where we get them… and move them forward.

Teachers, it’s okay to have a lesson plan fall apart sometimes. Tacos fall apart and we still love them! 🌮 #EdChat

Counting down the days this year not because I don’t love teaching and my students (I do), but because this year was so overwhelming I am breaking down and need a break. This year teachers did so much and it still didn’t feel like enough.

Our grade 3's LOVED our virtual field trip with @calgaryzoo yesterday! We could "barely" believe all the cool things we learned with Sarah, who even dressed up like different bears! #rvsonlinelearning #calgaryzoo @rvsed

Teaching is the profession that makes all other professions possible. Your impact is immeasurable.

Teacher retention will be an even bigger issue this year, which is saying A LOT! if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.
