🧵Can history be written with a needle? I spoke with artists and historians about community embroidery for @BBC_Culture. Come see the Palestinian History Tapestry, the Keiskamma Tapestry, Quakers sewing the Peterloo Massacre and more…🪡 bbc.com/culture/article/2023…

🚨YOU DID IT!🚨 More than 10,000 people saying NO to earned settlement Because of your support the government HAS to issue a formal response to a policy it hoped would slip through unnoticed. 🌈 THANK YOU to everyone who signed, shared, and spoke out🌈 act.praxis.org.uk/andy-burnh…

Been telling everyone for years - the BBC has an actual ban in place on trans people appearing on Strictly. Confirmed to me years ago by someone who works on the show. Institutionally transphobic. This is a 260,000 population that really is discriminated against. @bbcstrictly @bbc @bbcpress
Bethany wore a T-Shirt that said ‘Protect the Dolls’ during #Strictly rehearsals. After posting a video, the BBC quietly replaced it with a new one that doesn’t show her from the front. During the show, they actually blurred out the T-Shirt completely. Absolutely despicable

🚨LAST DAY🚨 Just 368 more signatures needed to force a response from the government. Earned settlement means more rough sleeping and poverty for people who’ve lived and worked here FOR DECADES. ✍️Tell Andy Burnham to BIN earned settlement. act.praxis.org.uk/andy-burnh…

Engagement is impossible on this app these days. Should I start some wild and unfounded rumours I heard about the Queen and David Attenborough to spice it up.?

Grenfell - 72 died from the fire, at least five died by suicide, 11,000 have PTSD, concerns about long term effects of toxicity on residents, 11 firefighters with terminal cancer - plus £1bn spent and rising. That's 'nothing' right?
Cutting red tape costs taxpayers nothing. It’s a common sense solution to get Britain building.

The UK maternity system was effectively taken over by activists and radicals. If you'd like to know how this happened and the impact it has had to the present day, my book is a two year investigation of the topic. Maternity: An Ongoing British Scandal amzn.eu/d/08kO86We

Nottingham maternity. These leaders are paid with tax money. They should not be allowed to keep silent. They owe us some explanations.
Replying to @ShaunLintern
Of the 14 senior leaders at CCG/ICB level, only 4 agreed to give evidence. Of 66 senior managers at @nottmhospitals only 35 actually engaged with the review just 53%. This is shocking behaviour by supposed NHS leaders.

Huge increase in breastfeeding rates.... No evidence of improved health outcomes as a result And worse ... Strong possibility that current infant feeding guidance to delay solids until 6 months and breastfeed exclusively are major factors to increasing rates of serious food allergies and neonatal jaundice. Is infant feeding policy doing serious harm?
STOP PRESS - UK mums no longer the WORLD's WORST at breastfeeding 📢 The first national Infant Feeding Survey since 2010 shows big rises in BF rates Exclusive BF at 6 months: 1% → 26% (26-fold higher; a 2500% relative increase) Any BF at 6w: 55% → 71% Any BF at 6m: 34% → 58%

The reality is that during the period that exclusive breastfeeding promotion policies and the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initaitive have expanded and bedded in, newborn readmissions to hospital for complications of insufficient intake (inc. jaundice) have been increasing every year!4/4

Can we talk about emergency c-sections that are performed too late to save the baby, and thus won't have an impact on stillbirth & neonatal mortality? I know so many of these experiences (including my own - should have been a Cat 1, ended up a perimortem c-section).
