These were my most involved and favorite model builds of 2025.
Hours and hours went into each of these.
The Tallgeese was a matter of pride. I actually made a few mistakes and needed to replace parts -but the results showcase the effort.
The M113 was my first attempt at an armored vehicle, and I built it to IPMS/USA standards. Kits like these are nothing like Gunpla and require a lot of involvement.
Eva Mechatrowego didn't go as planned. I was hoping to have a go with a smooth, high gloss finish, but other forces intervened to prevent that. Instead of starting all over, I just made it look like my old Honda Civic.
A-ko was a long overdue project, and the first time I worked on a resin figure of that scale. This one provided some catharsis. Actually getting her eyes done by hand made me feel like I'd reached a new level.
You can just do things.
My favorite performance of Patrick Stewart was in the TNG episode "Tapestry".
There are some days I look back to this episode for a reminder of overcoming difficulties and harsh truths.
I used to beat myself up over bad choices I had made and bad people I associated with. Led me into to conflicts, ruination, and at worst: homelessness.
But those were the things that made me into who I was. A lot of people just give up. They might lose their mind or spirit along the way. But you can't ever give those up -they're all you really have.
That almost sounds like it could be a cope, but in many cases, that's just how it goes. You have to live to know.
When I started collecting Nendoroids in 2012, social media algorithms pointed me towards other fans...in Malaysaia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
When I started collecting Anime Plastic™ around the same time, social media algorithms pointed me towards other collectors... in the Philippines.
And I never really figured that out.

A girl I liked once sent me DMs of hentai by Mogudan of Rei Ayanami getting railed, telling me she looks at hentai because that's how she wanted a guy to make her feel.
This was back in 2002, and I'm sure girls are much, much more foul with their material now.
I had this meme of Shiiko Sugai wearing a tinfoil hat while she said that "Newtypes are nothing but a pretext--they're Zeon propaganda".
Can't find it. If you've seen it, let me know.
Just gotta keep going
Fix it with a CA glue, polish it down, reprise it, then go on later and sand down the last uneven spaces.
Without breaking it again.
God damn it.
I've never built a figure like this before, and being as it's such a new experience for me, it's almost been a Herculean task.
I've had to go back and redo things multiple times. I store the figure in padded container when I'm not working on it, and when I go back to follow up...
There's a cut or gouge in it that wasn't there the last time I worked on it! Going to some more fine grit sanding to level things out, then prime it again.

Ralph the Baker from Louisiana cooks his tomahawk steak in 20 lbs of butter.
But the real trè bon is the Dragon Ball Z t-shirt -yes sir.
Don't be mad if you don't like DBZ -this is just how you know how far Japanese pop culture as permeated into Western life, like so much butter in that steak -aw yeah.
