If you’re erecting a wooden book box outside your house or anywhere within your community PLEASE PLEASE don’t call it a ‘library’, real public libraries are being cut and closed and the language we use is crucial.

And this, in a nutshell, is why libraries are so fab. 5y/o completes #SummerReadingChallenge and receives a gold medal, a solemn handshake and inquiry into which was his favourite book and why. You literally cannot buy this. @readingagency @SaveBathLibrary #ChildrensBooks

I rarely owned books as a child, instead I went to my local library. It was there that I developed my love of reading, & later writing. It makes me sad that children might grow up never having a local library. All libraries need to be saved. When they go, they go forever.
