Beds … with the lowest number of hospital beds the NHS continues to cut them
The premise an empty bed cost £. They don’t, they provide flexibility, opportunity to admit someone while another bed is being emptied. Blocked A&E cancelled operations!
NHSE 5000 more permanent beds
the great and the good aren't so great and not so good when it comes to bed numbers.

So my local FT - @UHMBT - has allegedly just told all its consultants they CANNOT book any further follow up appts for patients in their clinics. All clinics are now for ‘new’ patients. It’s an absolute outrage. What do patients do now for ongoing care. Yup - they come to us…..

Following the Covid Inquiry's damning verdict on @MattHancock, we've launched a petition to remove him from the Privy Council.
His actions led to thousands of avoidable deaths.
This is a first symbolic step towards accountability.

Are on NHS pension scheme
So i say that is pretty NHS really

British Left-Wing Media Outlet ‘The Canary’ Has Announced It Is Officially Closing After 11 Years Of Journalism
The platform was de-banked by Lloyds Bank & later announced a second account with Metro Bank was also frozen. A major attack was launched against the platform, which The Canary said made continuing to operate untenable.
The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) condemned the move by Lloyds Bank as a “disturbing precedent for UK press freedom”. Online commentators have warned that the ability of the establishment to cripple media organisations critical of them creates a hostile environment that will pressure other news outlets to fall into line or face similar potential backlash.

Discharging untested patients into care homes.
Thousands died because hospital patients were discharged into care homes without a Covid test.
The report must establish why this happened, who was responsible and how it will be prevented from happening again.

The social care crisis.
The sector was underfunded, fragmented and poorly prepared for a pandemic, with devastating consequences.
The report must recognise these systemic failures and recommend fundamental reform, including a National Care Service.

The Covid Inquiry's report on social care will be published tomorrow at 12pm.
For bereaved families, this is one of the most important modules of the Inquiry.
Here are the key issues we want it to address. 🧵

Looked up the Coventry one. Predictably, v little info, but lot of photo ops & of course control has transferred from Community Trust to 2° Care by looks of things & no doubt 💰💰💰 with it.
Will this be outsourced to another provider & funds with it? 🤔

“Care closer to home” has long been a euphemism for hospital and GP closures -the demise of the NHS.
We’re fucked if we take politicians’ lying words at face value.

I spoke to Leyla. ‘Left shift’ to community care has been myth, the opposite has occurred in terms of NHS budgets
Primary care appropriately funded will provide the necessary prevention, care and for every £1 spent £14 is saved in the economy

Why is Lincolnshire in such a poor state?
I think Co-dydramol is merely highlighting the challenges of working in Lincolnshire.
openprescribing.net/sicbl/71…
I find this headline intriguing- and if I may?
A few things to say @AnneMarieTasker @BBCNews
1. If a local system puts a medication on 'Red' and a GP prescribes it? They face significant amount of challenge/trouble/heartache
2. In a busy job- no one has time for that. That doesn't mean they don't care. It means the rules stop them
It maybe worth reconsidering the headline making the GP at fault.
He/She isn't.
And one thing for @NICEComms
That is a silly statement. You aren't Pontius Pilate.
The local ICB set it as 'Red' because you published the guidance.
Own it- not walk away from it.
Thanks

This is good news indeed. For starters, @WGHealthandCare & @mabonapgwynfor finally seem to have to put PA "Prof" #JeannieWatkins 's runaway ideas on PA training into temporary cold storage, atleast for now!
