If you're a designer, you probably don't need another bookmarking app. 👀 As creatives, we need more than just saving links. More than just capturing an image we thought looked cool. We need to see the visual context, add notes about why we saved it, organize findings on boards, present inspiration to clients, collaborate with our team, and actually find things again later. That's why we exist. A creative space for turning inspiration into knowledge. 📚 Save websites, interactions, images, files, ideas and more, and turn everything you collect into something you can search, understand, reuse, and build on. Your inspiration shouldn't just be saved. It should stay useful. 📚 save.design

When the makers of award-winning websites say where an idea came from, it’s rarely another website. We read 629 Awwwards case studies and write-ups. Of the 149 sources named, 44 were print and graphic design, 20 film and TV, and 14 websites.

Stripe Dot Dev is one of the few to name websites: Stripe took its colour themes from the white and blue of Berkshire Hathaway’s site and from GeoCities. Makers tend to name the sources they’re proud of, so the real share of websites is likely higher.

The liquid metal is Paper Shaders by @paper, on Adam Perlis's site (@AdamPerlis). The page transitions run on Barba.js (Cyphr's site, by Holographik) and Swup (Quang Dinh's portfolio). It names shadcn/ui now too.

This liquid effect is made from just 8 circles and one function 🫧 @JedBridges built it on jedbridges.com using a shader technique that smoothly blends shapes together. The function behind it is in the reply 👇 save.design/element/b501d2ad…

The shader function behind the effect: float smin(float a, float b, float k) { float h = clamp(0.5 + 0.5 * (b - a) / k, 0.0, 1.0); return mix(b, a, h) - k * h * (1.0 - h); } `k` controls how smoothly the shapes blend. At `k = 0`, you get the circles back.
