We have been trying to raise awareness of the fuel load & fire dangers of 🌲 for the public across forestry owners, local authorities @coilltenews Department of Ag, Forest service ++ for some time. It is played down by many of them or they pass it on

Why sequester and store carbon if it all shipped out to another country purely for profit. There is no net carbon gain or climate benefit in 🇮🇪 from a forestry model like this where profit and return on investment is all that matters
This is happening here 🇮🇪 in Lovely #Leitrim and believe it or not some of those "wealthy" investors are large intensive commercial farmers (dairy, pigs) from other parts of the country. Investors harming our environment habitats and communities? Why £€$
