UPDATE: Truck knocks dead 8-year-old boy in Kikuube
An eight-year-old boy has been knocked dead by a speeding truck loaded with sugarcane in Kikuube District, with police hunting for the driver who fled the scene.
The accident occurred at around 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Nyairongo Trading Centre along the Kyangwali-Kyarushesha-Kaseeta road in Kaseeta Parish, Kabwoya Sub-county.

UPDATE: 5 Year Old Girl in Hoima City Seeks UGX40M for Heart Surgery in India.
A five-year-old minor, Aheebwa Sumayah, is seeking financial assistance worth over 40 million Ugandan shillings to travel to India for open-heart surgery.
Aheebwa is a daughter of Sheik Sulait Kabagaye, the Imaam of Salaam Mosque located in Hoima City and Sarah Birungi both residents of Kihomboza in Hoima West Division.
The daughter reportedly born with the heart complication, was recently admitted at Mulago National Referral Hospital in which doctors informed her parents that her heart is struggling to receive enough blood.
The child is currently experiencing serious heart pain and body weakness which require specialized treatment in India.
Sheik Sulait Kabagaye, the child's father says has told Spice FM that although the family has been advised to seek treatment abroad, they are unable to raise the funds, yet they have been given until December to ensure the condition is worked on before it gets too late.
Kabagaye says the situation is overwhelming and requires support and sacrifice from friends and well-wishers in Bunyoro region and beyond in order to ensure her daughter gets the required medical attention.
He has appealed to well-wishers, NGOs, the government, and religious institutions to support the child and help save his life.
