RToTw 226: DunDun (Malmö, Sweden) “This Time I Know For Sure” (2013). Psychedelic, sludgy, droning indie pop. Dirty, layered guitars, floaty ethereal vocals and cello with effect pedals, bringing a wall of noise no one could resist. @ChristineOwman #indie youtu.be/HER_rWGFrYM?si=Pb4x…
RToTw126: That's Retro Track. @theradiodept (Lund, Sweden) "A Window" (2006). Moody, muted, melancholic, dreampop. Saw these guys live so many times back in the day. Always stunning. Not sure they're still out there? Last heard from: 2020. #dreampop youtu.be/e_OHp0lDuvE?si=krGh…
Going to do a retro-track of the week-ish thingie, to celebrate the brilliant bands we grew up with that I'm guessing a lot of you have never heard of/about. Some are still around! So keep them eyes and ears peeled.😀
ToTw 1526: Kallsup (Örebro, Sweden) “Chimär (GBG)”. Swedish indie done well. Expertly staying on the fringe of the “Kent”-trap, bringing their own sound. Jangly guitars, The Cure feels. Adding to the classic Swedish indie sound. Good. #indie @varorecords youtu.be/87o-XnicpTQ?si=_HlM…
ToTw 1426: Sylvie's Head (Gothenburg, Sweden) "Burning Spear". Psychedelic Manchester. Slow, laid back and swoony. Shimmering guitars with a beat and swagger to match. Striped t-shirts, shades and a general unapologetic demeanor. Good. #indie #manchester youtu.be/uRAHk-fsCB0?si=KOmh…
ToTw 1326: Atomic Fruit with "Medicine". Ok they’re based in Berlin, but theres’s a Swede in there! Psychedelic, alternative and electronic. Soft, cozy, jangly, good. @LeaPorcelain mixed with @genuineverve youtu.be/SuvC8E7jhuo?si=Xrkt…
ToTw 1226: @Brknchord (Lithuania) "MKUltra Scarecrow". Been a few years, last seen here three years ago. Still brilliant, still slow, sludgy and heavy, head nodding brill psychedelic rock with a swanky manchester beat. Love this. #indie #lithuania youtu.be/v0A2Il4INC8?si=5Qbh…
ToTw 1126: @colleaguesmusic (SE) with "Weekend". Laid back French/Danish indie-feels of the highest order. Reminds me so of the brilliant danish Palace Winter. And I love those guys. Brilliant. #indie youtu.be/V_filcnQK0w?si=i3qd…
ToTw 1026: @Starhorsemusic (SE) “Never, never”. A runner-up 7 years ago. They're really back? I can’t believe it?! Star gazing, shimmering and glimmering guitars, ethereal vocals. Just like they used to sound like. Tears in my eyes. #indie #shoegaze open.spotify.com/track/0VJ2X…
ToTw 826: Lene 3000 (NO) "Body Language". Ethereal. Dreamy. Synth-based, gothic, full of retro-vibes. Darkwave perhaps. In any case it’s brittle, melancholic, powerful and very pretty. Once you’ve experienced Lene, you won’t forget it. #indie #darkwave youtu.be/EVr-H5uMc8U?si=NoJg…
ToTw 726: 100% consensus this week. Not going out on a limb saying Boy With Apple (Gothenburg, Sweden) is our #1 indie/shoegaze hope right now. Jangly, twisted, skewed, ethereal. Aussie feels. DIIV, Alvvays and Embassy? Mostly DIIV right? #indie #shoegaze youtube.com/watch?v=vLmsL0m7…
ToTw 826: Once again it's Sweden's Boy With Apple, with "Outside My Window". The whole album, Navigation, is brilliant. Jangly skewed guitars, ethereal vocals, alarming guitar walls. Space-exploring bliss. youtube.com/watch?v=ooM-TdFl… #indie #shoegaze
ToTw 626: @makthaverskan69 “Shatter” (Gothenburg, Sweden). Noisy indie with that charming GBG sound, melting my heart. Real and honest. Mixed with classic 60s Spotnicks, it works. With AI taking over, this is what we need. Real. youtu.be/_C1jPP8fu4k?si=g0Qw… #indie #sweden
Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary It's just silly it's been 13 years. Time flies.
ToTw 526: Coming back to Ea Othilde (Oslo, Norway) once again with "I Will Not Be Like That". Effect pedals firmly on. That brill PJ Harvey feel. Explosive guitar wall bliss mixed with ethereal soft vocal sections. What the doctor ordered. Yummy! #indie youtu.be/MkzrKEjSqX0?si=gO7o…
ToTw 426: Ea Othilde (Oslo, Norway) with "Florence". Soft airy vocals, muted, on the edge of turning artsy but just as you think that they twist and turn into brilliant noisy indie rock. Love what they do here. Looking forward to see these guys live.youtu.be/ATQSf9BBK78?si=3UY7… #indie
Happy Easter! I'm adding all the songs submitted to us to this playlist in case you want to follow it. Every song submitted is in there even if it's not getting enough votes for a track of the week. open.spotify.com/playlist/11…
Rome Is Not A Town (Gothenburg, Sweden) “The Breeze”. So much talent here, so many influences. Noise/surf/artsy/indie/alt. Every song is a whole new experience. There’s no “RINAT sound”. Puzzing, but you’re not going to be bored. youtu.be/H6rtWboFQjQ?si=uDXd… #indie #AlternativeMusic
Continuing '26 with some live footage of Svart Ridå from Ronneby, Sweden. Gig here tonight and I recorded some of it. Brilliant and sold out show. These guys won't be "small" for long. youtu.be/HFLgDi28vmM?si=gjLW… #indie #Sweden
