DEVELOPING: SWAT standoff at 4640 N Springfield #ChicagoScanner A shooting reported late Monday morning at 4640 N Springfield Ave. escalated into an active SWAT standoff, leaving a woman and a Chicago police SWAT officer wounded. At least two additional people remained inside the building as of 12:08 p.m., according to preliminary police and fire radio traffic. The incident began around 10:56 a.m. when dispatchers reported that a man had shot a woman outside the home. Subsequent calls indicated an armed man was inside with other people, including a 13-year-old. One caller reported that people had been locked in a room. Officers reported that the wounded woman was safely outside while the armed man and the child remained in the building. The woman was later taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
