POLICE SAY A NEIGHBOR FILMED A MAN SEXUALLY ABUSING TWO DOGS. HIS BOND IS $2,500.
El Paso police say a neighbor recorded about 20 minutes of it around 5:30pm Wednesday, October 21, on the 1000 block of St. Vrain.
Jimmy Nerio, 69, is charged with bestiality involving two pit bull mixes. He was booked Friday on a $2,500 bond.
The two dogs are still with their owner.
The El Paso PD Animal Cruelty Unit did its job, and a neighbor did the right thing. Then the number came back at $2,500.

Justice Department tells Orange County to verify citizenship status of 1,754 people in California
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) hand-delivered a letter and a USB drive to Orange County officials demanding they verify the citizenship status of 1,754 registered voters within 48 hours
In the letter, written by First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, the federal government requested that local election officials segregate—but not cancel—the vote-by-mail ballots of those individuals until their U.S. citizenship can be confirmed
Here is the story as to the demand delay
According to county officials, the DOJ's Friday delivery was sent to the wrong person. It was hand-delivered to O.C. Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen instead of Bob Page, the county’s Registrar of Voters, who actually maintains voter registration records and runs elections.
On Saturday, Orange County counsel sent a letter back to the DOJ stating the items were mistakenly delivered and warned that the USB drive "may contain confidential" data. As of Monday, October 26, 2026, local election officials stated they had received no response or clarification from federal prosecutors on how to proceed. [1, 2]

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY, SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY DEPUTY ANDREW NUNEZ WAS SHOT AND KILLED ANSWERING A CALL FOR HELP.
On October 27, 2025, Deputy Nunez and other deputies went to a home in Rancho Cucamonga after a report of a man threatening a woman. The sheriff’s department says the suspect opened fire almost as soon as they arrived. Deputy Nunez was struck.
He was a 6 year veteran of the department. He left behind his wife, who was expecting, and their 2 year old daughter.
He went toward someone else’s danger so a woman wouldn’t have to face it alone.

She passed on October 26, 2026, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Susan Jane Miller in 1946, she rose from modeling and early TV work to become a beloved fixture of 1970s and ’80s television.
She earned an Emmy in 1969 for her role on The Name of the Game, received multiple nominations for her later series, and brought warmth, humor, and real chemistry to the screen. After Kate & Allie ended, she stepped back from acting to focus on family and advocacy, including longtime support for the Special Olympics.
Her family remembered her as someone who “never met a stranger” and was “instinctively drawn to whoever needed lifting up.”
They highlighted her defining strength after the 2004 plane crash that took her youngest son, Teddy: even in profound grief, she put others first. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dick Ebersol, children Sunshine, Harmony, Charlie, and Willie, seven grandchildren, her sister, and her beloved service dog, Lola.
