I am sorry, I really can’t be of help as I am not rich. I work a minimum wage job, things I post are either gifts, paid for In instalments or save up for, for a very long time.

Petition: Legislate to protect ILR applicants from retrospective changes
Keep the 5-year ILR route for people already in the UK and do not apply new settlement rules retrospectively. Future changes should apply only to new arrivals. We support waiting up to 10 years for access to public funds if the 5-year ILR pathway is protected.

Some people actually don’t mind the 10-year route. The problem now is that your savings and emergency funds are wiped out with every visa renewal, leaving you back at square one.

While it was never assumed that it was only going to affect social care workers, it was clear they were going to get the shortest end of the stick. So there wasn’t much uproar from some quarters because care workers had it worse.

The people that we were fighting for about 24 hours ago have now become the ones doing the mocking.
This I-better-pass-my-neighbor behavior cannot take us anywhere o.
If you only understand consideration when you’re the victim, then you don’t deserve it.

I defend care workers on this app and I have never worked in care. I honestly don’t like that some of them are doing the same thing we help them fight against.
If it was bad when those people did it, then it is also bad if the care workers are doing it now.

Like I have always told you guys , we are ll immigrant .. But the problem some of you have is the fucking classism about jobs people do..
You won’t see people in the US do this , they all understand that do anything legal to get your paper and don’t be stranded ,but our own is different..
Classism sha nii, when health care worker were coming out putting the work and fighting , what were you guys doing
When it was assumed it was only going to affect care workers, many were silent, even supported the policy with “it’s their country and they can do whatever they want”
Now that it has affected Mr/Miss Data Analyst earning below 50k, it all of a sudden, doesn’t make sense.
I don’t know where you people are getting before 2025
Care workers that came into the UK in 2021, their 5 years route pathway is safe.
Those that got their care visa between 2022-2025 will need to spend extra 5 years (most probably, not needing a sponsor) so circa 10 years as a care worker.
