Step (briefly) aside, El Nino! Western Washington has its first mountain snow alerts of the season! Could see 4-8" at Stevens Pass into Wednesday and 1-3" at Snoqualmie Pass. Bulk of the snow tonight. emeraldcityweather.com/pacif… #wawx #wasnow #seattle

So far, October 2026 is still clinging to the record even after this morning's rain -- we're at 0.29" this October thru 11 a.m. But I think we've got another 0.03" in the cards between now and Halloween.

#Seattle (0.08") is about to finish October drier than Las #Vegas (1.19") for just the 2nd time (1972). But Vegas isn't the only unexpected "L" Seattle is on track for in the October rain loss column this year --> emeraldcityweather.com/seatt… #wawx #nvwx

Almost like "It's October, ho hum, time to bring a storm to the Pacific Northwest..." "WAIT! (screeching tires) It's Super El Nino, these storms are supposed to go to California..."

Somehow both of these things were true in #Seattle Friday as it hit 77 degrees: * It was one of the hottest late October days in Seattle history… * It didn’t even set a record high. But don't worry, Zombie Summer is over now. Really. I mean it. emeraldcityweather.com/seatt… #wawx

Today's windstorm brought a 101 mph gust to Mt. Rainier's Camp Muir (10,100 ft.), and a trio of 70 mph gusts at sea level along the mouth of the Columbia River. Over 60,000 lost power in Wasington. More wind gusts in the blog: emeraldcityweather.com/north… #wawx #wawind #wastorm
