How do you make one of the most powerful men in America disappear and keep his whereabouts a secret for more than 50 years? Jimmy Hoffa went to a meeting outside Detroit on July 30, 1975, and never came home. His car stayed behind at the Machus Red Fox restaurant, but whatever happened after that has fueled decades of searches, accusations and disputed confessions.
One major theory is that organized crime figures had him killed because his efforts to regain control of the Teamsters threatened their interests. He expected to meet Anthony “Tony Jack” Giacalone and Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano that afternoon. Both became suspects, but suspicion never produced a conviction in his disappearance.
Then there was Frank Sheeran, whose claim that he shot his former ally helped inspire “The Irishman.” His account made a compelling movie, but investigators found that blood recovered from the house he identified was not Jimmy Hoffa’s. Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski offered another version, claiming he killed him and eventually concealed his remains in a car sold for scrap. That story was challenged by a former New Jersey organized crime investigator. Neither account has been proved.
The theories about his remains stretch from Michigan burial sites to a New Jersey landfill and the infamous Giants Stadium story. Searches have failed to find him, and the stadium claim lacked supporting evidence. With so many competing stories, the question is whether anyone publicly told the truth or whether the people who knew took the answer to their graves.
Which explanation do you find most convincing, and what evidence makes you believe it? Share your thoughts below.

I've spent years writing books, but telling someone's real-life story as a journalist is a different responsibility, and this one means a lot to me.
I've just published my first true short journalism article as I work toward my master's degree in New Media Journalism at Full Sail University. I'm still learning the ropes, and I know I have plenty of room to grow, but I'm excited to share this step in my journey.
The article tells the story of Rose Cook, a remarkable woman from Port Wentworth, Georgia, who has spent decades helping others. I'm grateful to Rose and Jack Caldwell for sitting down with me, sharing their experiences, and giving me the opportunity to tell her story.
I'd really appreciate you taking a few minutes to read it and share your thoughts. I'm not just looking for compliments. I genuinely want to know what you think of the writing and storytelling as I continue developing my journalism skills. Please give it a read and leave me a comment!

The interview went great for the Skinnie magazine article. Turns out it’ll be a featured article in their physical magazine and the goal is for it to be in their Feb 2027 issue around the time of the Savannah Book Festival.
Bobby Fuller had a hit with "I Fought the Law" in 1966. Months later, his mother found him dead in his car. He was just 23. His death was ruled accidental, but his family questioned that finding. Nearly 60 years later, the mystery remains. #BobbyFuller #TrueCrime
Today, I get to talk about my writing and the hometown that helped shape me. I’m interviewing with The Skinnie magazine in Savannah for an upcoming article about me as an author, my book Unsolved Georgia, and a couple of cold cases from its pages connected to Savannah, Georgia.
Please keep me in your prayers today. I’m grateful for this opportunity, and I’m asking God to help me find the right words, represent these stories with care, and keep the people behind them at the heart of the conversation. Being able to share this part of my work in my hometown means a great deal to me.
