"Silence was her shield and her weakness." 🛡️🩸 A neurodivergent woman, a sick child, a cult survivor, and a very good boy. She'd burn the wasteland for them. 🔥 A story of found family, protective feminine rage, and the brutal cost of survival.🖤 #QuestPit #W #A #T #PostApoc

I remember this indeed.😁 Reason we had to wait for the PC to be safe to turn off was that the hard drive was similar to a record player. If the power was cut off, the head ("needle") would crash into the spinning disc, gouging it like a scratched record/CD, damaging it forever.
Do you remember when Windows told you, "It's now safe to turn off your computer"?

REMINDER. Criticising men’s behaviour isn’t misandry. Women calling out sexism aren’t oppressing you. Misogyny kills women. Being criticised hurts your feelings. Get a grip.

It’s adrenaline-fuelled “frustrated excitement”. 😼 Cat spots prey ➔ Adrenaline spikes, gets excited for a kill ➔ Jaw flexes to practice the kill bite ➔ Realises it can’t reach the prey ➔ Vocalises frustration mid-flex to burn off the adrenaline. 🙀
I love how all cats make that “ekekekekekek” sound when they see birds

Gorgeous cover, but whatever you do, the title is unreadable. Nine times out of ten it's the font. Thin, condensed, or overly decorative type vanishes at thumbnail size — exactly where buyers first see your book. Quick fix: pick a typeface with weight and clean shapes, then shrink the cover to thumbnail. If the title still reads at a glance, you're good.

This is unfortunately a lot more widespread than people realise. A company I used to work at used CompanyName1 (I can’t say the name) as a password to a critically important back-end system. No 2FA. Until I forced them to change it all. Lucky that I got there before hackers did.
A hacker accessed Denmark's national ID database. 8.8 million records. the password was "123456". The administrator account at Pays ApS, a 2-person IT company with legal access to the country's central civil registration database used 123456 as its password. at least three accounts did. including the admin. and the hacker was in for 21 days and 17 hours. The Danish digital affairs minister called it an "extremely serious incident." In the week after the breach became public, Danes setting up credit fraud alerts went from 250,000 to nearly 970,000. the hacker told the newspaper Politiken the access wasn't difficult. The CPR contains names, addresses, national ID numbers, church membership, and legal incapacitation records for 11 million people. protected by 123456. at a 2-person company. that had legal access to it.

This is a ClickFix (or TerminalFix) scam. 🤷 Not new, but it's the first time I've come across one. Part of me admires the sheer gall and ingenuity of giving me instructions on how to infect my own PC. A bigger part of me is p*ssed off on behalf of those who'll fall for it.

Yoda says not everyone will like your book, and that’s okay. It’s also okay for bad reviews to make you really sad, especially when you’re already struggling to write and feeling so low. 💚 Another message meant mainly for me.
