Footverse v3 is live.
Funny how it comes full circle. Footverse was the project that gave me my big break, and I've spent the last few months rebuilding it from the ground up. v3 is a complete redesign with a lot more under the hood.

🟣INTRODUCING PLAYERPRINT
Every facet of a footballer. One app.
Top 5 Leagues | 23/24, 24/25, 25/26 | 4,396 players | 321 metrics
12 concepts on one player page:
Passing | Carrying | Shooting & Footedness | Aerial Duels | Hold-Up | Decision Making | Final Third | Half-Spaces | Tempo Control | Defending | Post-Recovery | Link-Up & Synergy
THE SCOUT. Build the player you're looking for.
Pick up to 10 metrics from any concept. Weight each 0-5 by how much you care. Get the top 50 ranked by Fit, with the percentile behind every column, so you see why he fits and not just that he does.
Nothing is pre-baked. Every percentile, rating and role is computed live against your pool: season, league, position, minimum 90s. Move the pool and the numbers move.
Maps you won't find anywhere else:
Angle Bias Index | Decision Bloom | half-space entries | injectors vs resets | post-carry take-ons | aerial duel quality | link-up synergy
Passes are comets. Carries are dotted. Every visual downloads at 300 DPI.

Lionel Messi is the GOAT, Ronaldo is not, why just about every statistical analyst agrees
Another update: Player Summary now features a scatter plot with xThreat Prevented vs Offensive Action VAEP

Standard. Atomic is far more complex to calibrate and it had a worse predictive power here: gamemodelsfootball.com/artic…

Since you work with stats, you know all too well that penalties are much less dependent on individual talent, and that the best player/scorer on a team isn’t always the designated penalty taker.
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé are still 2 goals away from the real record.
Non-penalty goals in the World Cup:
3 great World Cup resources I’ve been using:
🔹 Futi app (live games): apps.apple.com/app/futi-socc…
🔹 Fifaphy by @Vdot_Spain (insane amount of data): fifaphy.vercel.app/

The gap in any other metric would just be hilarious. You wouldn’t like to see it.
It was never a debate, Messi is the GOAT.
But in the future, it's possible that we end up arguing about who’s second in the modern era.
Proud of my guy, Diomande is a star. Our fan club welcomes new members.
Scout Lab updates:
🔹 New Player Summary page
🔹 Improved layouts for Similarity & Rankings
🔹 Minor tweaks for better readability

Just finished updating both Scout and Teams Lab through the end of the European season, except for the UCL final, of course. Enjoy!

It captures the image based on the dimensions of your screen, which is why it doesn’t look good on mobile, for example. Your browser window is probably not very wide. Try hiding the sidebar before taking the screenshot in that case.

A faster learning rate at the start of each season, gradually converging to the steady-state value, might be worth testing.

I don't like Opta's definition for progressive carries. I use the one from Statsbomb, which is similar to the definition for progressive passes: carries that advance the ball at least 25% of the remaining distance towards the opponent's goal.

Just a tip, try to exclude corners from the heatmap
