This is painful, as a #Texans fan, watching this Seahawks defense excel. Last season, the Texans and Seahawks were neck and neck for best defense in the sport. This season, they are….. not.

Seahawks have only lost 6 games since beginning of 2025. 21-6 record, including playoffs. Combined margin of loss in 6 losses? 17 points 🤯 2025 🔸 W1: Lost 17-13 to SF 🔸 W5: Lost 38-35 to TB 🔸 W11: Lost 21-19 to LAR 2026 🔸 W3: Lost 33-31 to WSH 🔸 W5: Lost 32-29 to SF 🔸 W6: Lost 17-14 to DEN in OT Margin of loss tells you a lot about a team. ➡️ SEA is incredibly consistent in their high level of play. Maximum they have lost by is 4 points. Average is under a FG. Even in their very rare “off-weeks” with more mistakes & sometimes many (INTs, etc), they come remarkably close to fully being able to absorb & overcome them. They are a ridiculously tough out. Opponents must bring their A+ game, starting strong, playing cleaner & creating and/or capitalizing on every mistake to beat them. ➡️ 5 out of SEA’s 6 losses came when the opposing team was both leading at the half & won the turnover battle. 2nd halves were either reciprocal scoring drives with opponents maintaining a small lead or see-sawing heavyweight bouts with the lead going back & forth down to the wire. In only 1 loss did SEA both lead at halftime (by 3 points) & have same number of turnovers as their opponent (2). That was W1 2025 vs SF 🚨 Teams down by more than a FG at halftime have not beaten SEA in the last two seasons. Second half down by a TD+ comebacks don’t exist in their world. ⚠️ Teams who lose the turnover battle haven’t beaten them either.

Remember the Sean McVay Screaming Into His Playsheet image of last year? Seahawks D did that to one of the best offensive minds in football. Today? JSN had one of the top defensive minds Steve Spagnuolo in an absolute TORTURE CHAMBER.

Wanna note again that the Seahawks had one of the most dominant defensive performances in recent memory and zero helmet to helmet hits. You can be a fast and physical defense and use proper technique. It’s almost as if the niners are dirty or poorly coached.
I understand punching the football, but if your punch misses, should that be a flag?

Nick Emmanwori said the Seahawks' defense "put on a clinic" tonight, and that they were motivated to extend their streak of not allowing a 100-yard rusher. That's now at 36 consecutive games after they held Ken Walker III to 36 yards on 14 attempts.

Honestly surprised he wasn't let go this morning. The bar was "Keep your season interesting by beating the blatantly tanking, 0-5 Dolphins in your own stadium to climb to 3-4" and they couldn't do it. Aaron Glenn will be coaching in his 25th game this week and it has been clear the entire time that he's just not HC material.
The Jets have been outscored 107-6 in the final 2:00 of the first half during Aaron Glenn's tenure as head coach

Per ESPN Research, the Seahawks are the first team since the 1984 Browns to hold their first seven opponents under 180 passing yards. They're allowing a league-low 3.99 yards per play, which is the fewest through seven games by any team since the 2019 Patriots (3.96).

I’m not a fan of setting up the third and managable game with this offense. They need to throw on early downs to be to make best use of their personnel.

The Seahawks would be 6-0 if they had just been doing the Barnyard every opportunity (joking but sort of not)

The Ravens are +65 in the first half and –70 in the second half this season. A 135 point swing between halves. No team this century has had a larger second half point differential drop off through 7 games.

Brian Flores should be the favorite for Coach of the Year. Yes, I know he’s not the head coach. Don’t care.

A RB trade would be bad process in an aggregated view but probably best to view pass offseason as a sunk cost, and look at the Right Now as a new starting point. Same situation as not being competitive at all w/r/t Brooks and then trading for Ernest which worked out anyway.
Replying to @cmikesspinmove
How do you feel about trade for rb? I think if we make high end move bad process given investment in room already

The Seahawks ruled out RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) for their Sunday night game vs. the Chiefs. S Nick Emmanwori (hip), QB Drew Lock (elbow) and OLB Connor O’Toole (hamstring) are questionable. LBs Drake Thomas (ankle) and Chazz Surratt (calf) are out.

A few keys for tonight’s game: Do the Patriots use personnel groups that get the Bears in Base defense? The Bears Base defense ranks last in the NFL in yards per play allowed, over 7.5 yards per play. They also match heavier personnel with Base at one of the higher league rates. Will either QB take off running? Both defenses call man coverage at top five rates, opening up opportunities for the QBs to get a bunch of scramble yards. There are also questions about how well their offensive skill players can get open against man. Could see the QBs both rush for more than the market expects. With the recent improvements for the Patriots offense, I see them keeping it within a field goal or winning outright.
