The opposite of Cuomo and de Blasio, who battled mightily for years over matters important, trivial and even farcically silly. (Remember the Harlem deer?)
You’ve been working with Mayor Mamdani for about a year now. Tell me how you found him. Is he more pragmatic than you thought, or is he fairly ideological? I’d say very pragmatic when it comes to getting things done. He understands the relationship with the governor is important. His supporters probably aren’t thrilled when they see us standing together, too, right? That’s fine. Because they view you as too moderate. Do you ever joke about that with them, by the way? Like, sort of the odd couple, like, your young supporters see me as – I could bring him the grandma vote, yeah. No, we both know what we have to do to develop a relationship, but it’s not that hard. youtube.com/watch?v=sGabfJ8I…

🚨Kathy Hochul having the best latkes in America at THE STURGEON KING 🐟👑
NEW: On The Road from the legend, BARNEY GREENGRASS, where @KathyHochul came to play On Mamdani, Bibi, Trump, Tisch, her own plans to run again in '30 (sorry @PatRyanUC !) and, oh yes, Andrew >> Were you relieved when Zohran Mamdani beat Andrew Cuomo here? I knew he was going to win. I thought he brought a new energy to the party. Again, differences on approaches to the Jewish community, Israel and all that — that’s another topic. But I think people enjoyed seeing someone that had a very fresh look at the city and saw the possibilities. And I’m an optimist. But your life has been easier having him versus having Andrew, right? It would have been a very different scenario here if you were having Andrew. It would’ve been that old model that you just mentioned of the historic clash between the governor and the mayor, Albany versus the city. Yeah, but I would have been the one on top because I’m the governor politico.com/news/magazine/2…

Love seeing kids get into the Halloween spirit. His Spineless Congressman costume was great too.

.@NYCMayor & @GovKathyHochul took the “G” train to Nassau Avenue - Mamdani returning the favor to Hochul, after she campaigned for him back to back weekends last year. North Brooklyn is a hotspot of Mamdani voters per figures from last year’s mayoral.

One of the best ways to understand someone is by exploring their relationship to place. A genuinely excellent profile of Kathy Hochul:
NEW: @GovKathyHochul's vision for New York has been largely shaped by her upbringing in a failing western New York town and her family’s ascent from a trailer park to affluence. Learn more about The Courtneys of Hamburg, NY:

Good ad.
A head-turning new "Michigan First" ad from @AbdulElSayed - he names some issue he agrees with MAGA voters on, then plays a supercut of Fox News hosts/Tucker praising him or bashing Mike Rogers. semafor.com/article/10/23/20…

under Hochul, New York is undergoing the most ambitious transit expansion in half a century: IBX, SAS phase 2, and now the 125th st subway very excited to vote for her!
Excited yet? Governor Hochul provided $50 million to fund the early stages of this work — and secured historic changes to state law to allow it to move forward faster. That’s real leadership for uptown.

Want to know why @GovKathyHochul left it all on the field to get Stop Super Speeders passed into law this year? Look no further. Slower speeds save lives!
The number of drivers who have racked up 16 or more speed camera tickets in a one-year period is spiking, right as legislation to slow them down comes up for a vote. hellgatenyc.com/superspeeder…

Thank you @GovKathyHochul! This proposed crosstown subway expansion across 125th Street will be transformative for Harlem, connecting riders to 7 subway lines, the express bus to LGA, and Metro-North.

The MTA is proposing a new 125 Street Subway, which would extend west from the future 125 St/Lexington Av Q station. The project would connect existing subway lines—including the Second Avenue Subway—and bus routes along the corridor. Learn more about this project at a public scoping meeting; we're hosting two virtual sessions on October 22, and one in-person session on October 27.
