My new piece in @FreethinkerMag describes the damaging regulatory wilderness for non-therapeutic childhood male genital cutting. Religious privilege maintained by governments.
Non-voluntary permanent bodily changes breach children’s rights.

The 26 bishops in the Lords are apparently our moral guardians, whilst consistently voting against progressive social reform. Now a(nother) CofE safeguarding scandal. Remove the Lords Spiritual bench and let bishops preach only to those who want to listen
Lord spiritual resigns following arrest, amid repeated safeguarding scandals among CofE bishops. This dysfunctional institution should be disestablished – and the bishops' bench removed.

Vicars and priests who are told about child sex abuse during confession will be exempt from new “mandatory reporting” laws.
Make it make sense.

We’re quoted in Sunday @Telegraph on two Islamic charities which hosted misogynistic messages. It’s outrageous that a charity has promoted the idea that it’s ok to hit a woman who refuses sex. @DominicPenna

Amazing to see the response when a diversity of voices was actually given chance to debate!

No child should be subjected to the forced surgical removal of any part of their genitalia for non-medical reasons. Why is this such a difficult proposition?

@NatSecSoc @Seculant
Both @gmcuk & @TheBMA claim to have no policy re: cutting boys’ normal genitals when religious parents call for it. Truth is, it is only by asserting this, that they actively exclude boys from child safeguarding and ethical norms that would otherwise apply.
In a new paper, @Seculant describes an "active and singular exclusion of young boys" from safeguarding by the failure to reform guidance on non-therapeutic circumcision.
