May my MVPs attain PMF in the shortest time possible, my initiatives never lack traction, and my impact be felt generations after I’m gone 🎉

Unnecessary meetings are the bane of many companies. What bothers me most is how many productive hours they waste.
I built something to help teams visualize the true cost of their meetings.
It’s open source and runs locally within your organization.

excited to be speaking! come hang! :D
We're excited to announce Phillipa Bennett-Eghan (@1bp7l_) as a speaker at SysConf 2026!
Her talk is titled "Building a Network Server from First Principles."
Network servers are programs that listen on ports, wait for other programs to connect to them over a network, and respond to their requests. There are many different kinds, from web and file servers to proxy and mail servers. Many languages and frameworks provide abstractions for network servers in applications, but a mental model of the layers beneath is useful.
So, in this talk, Phillipa explores those layers through a small network server she built in Go. She starts by accepting a TCP connection, then defines a simple wire protocol for exchanging messages and handles multiple connections concurrently. She also discusses the challenges that emerge, including managing shared state and handling process shutdown while work is still in progress.

She has built backend systems, and enjoys digging beneath abstractions to understand how things work at a lower level, particularly the mechanisms and trade-offs that make systems reliable and performant.

Recruited a GM for my company and for the first time in months, my head rests easy because another senior person is looking at the fine details. Recommend.
And just like that, the Moolre Startup Cup has come to an end! 🏆🚀
What started as an idea to bring builders, innovators, and entrepreneurs together became a celebration of creativity, technology, and bold ideas.
From building innovative solutions with Moolre’s financial infrastructure to pitching, networking, learning, and finally celebrating our winners, the journey was one to remember.

The competition may be over, but the building continues.
