When your headteacher sends you this 😊. This recognition and the beautiful messages from parents and children this week has made it all worth it.

Always so great to see @actionheroteach in action and sharing some gems with our new and young educators in London. Thank you for yet another excellent session, at our @LNYeducators day conference.

I know teachers who: - Have stopped drinking water during the day because the staff toilet next to them has been broken for months. - who have an hour added to their morning routine because all but one photocopiers are broken. - are struggling to manage because most Support Staff cut. The lack of funding is sending workloads sky high and making the average day gruelling. Education is running on empty. It needs correcting at the budget.

5 months ago, I tried to end my life. I was at rock bottom and didn’t think things would ever get better… Well, I’m so glad to say I was wrong, and today I’m still here, celebrating my 32nd birthday 😊

To those with genuine concern for my big sister Dolly’s well being, she posted a video last week to share with her fans that she has had kidney stones and is getting treatment. My sister Freida is always concerned when one of her siblings isn’t feeling well so she ask for prayers on Dolly’s behalf. It’s my job as a sister to both of them to love and respect their privacy as I expect them to do for me. To those of you who make it your job to attack me for not being your personal information center, you need to go check their pages! Most fans are genuinely concerned but some of you are way out of line with disregard for my feelings concerning their wellbeing. My big sister will share with her fans when she so chooses in the meantime don’t come at me with questions or insults.

In an ideal world, I'd argue that all secondary teachers should spend at least one week per year in a primary setting. Are there any schools or Trusts out there who get close to this? Does anyone have a strong argument against it?

I’m convinced that if every parent had to volunteer just one week in their child’s classroom, educators would get a lot more respect.

I must have spoken to well over 100 headteachers across the country recently and they're all saying the same things: Many, many more pupils with complex SEND needs. More challenging behaviour and at a younger age. Too little specialist provision. Frustrated families. Social Services bar too high. Public services skint and burnt out staff. No real Ofsted reform. Falling birth rates. People are angry. Communities in despair. Funding that’s nowhere near enough. Schools are holding the system together but it’s becoming unsustainable - they can't keep asking more and more of staff, with less and less. Something has to give. Without urgent reform and real investment, I'm worried that this could be the year we've all known was coming and education finally breaks.

I might have to enlighten my son's primary school about Black History Month assemblies. My son is coming home and his summary is that Black people weren't treated nicely. Yawn. 📢It's about time you make your BHM assemblies about recognition, celebration and empowerment📢
