Three years after the barbaric Hamas attacks of 7 October, we honour the memory of the victims and stand with their families. There can be no justification for terror. Lasting peace in Gaza requires the full disarmament of Hamas. Romania supports the peace process and, within the Board of Peace, is turning commitment into action: 12 medical evacuation flights so far, with children from Gaza receiving treatment in Romanian and EU hospitals. Our position remains unchanged: a negotiated two-state solution, with Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace and security. President @NicusorDanRO's latest op-ed makes an important point: Romania is not seeking special treatment. Romania is investing, modernizing, and contributing to collective security. From Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base to major defense modernization programs and Black Sea infrastructure, Romania is demonstrating what burden-sharing looks like in practice. The Black Sea is increasingly central to NATO's future, and Romania intends to be a reliable partner at the heart of that effort. President Dan's op-ed highlights a simple message that resonated throughout recent meetings in Washington and Brussels: Romania is not asking the United States for more. Romania is offering to do more. As one of NATO's most committed allies, Romania continues to invest in military capabilities, critical infrastructure, energy security, and Black Sea stability. My visit to NATO Headquarters closed with a meeting with Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby (@USWPColby). On the instructions of President @NicusorDanRO, I delivered Romania's national position on U.S. force posture in Europe. It is an interagency document, prepared under the coordination of the Ministry of National Defence. Minister Radu Miruță, Deputy Minister Sorin Moldovan and their team were essential contributors to its drafting. An excellent meeting: open, direct, with a deep understanding of what is at stake. Romania did not come with a request. It came with a position, worked out at home and delivered at the right level. I am grateful to the United States, and to Under Secretary Colby personally, for the openness and the seriousness of this conversation. It began in Washington. It continues: Under Secretary Colby has accepted the invitation to visit Romania. Am încheiat vizita la Cartierul General NATO cu o întâlnire cu Elbridge Colby, subsecretar pentru politici în Departamentul de Război al SUA. La instrucțiunile Președintelui @NicusorDanRO, am transmis poziția națională a României privind postura militară a SUA în Europa: un document interinstituțional, elaborat sub coordonarea Ministerului Apărării Naționale, la redactarea căruia ministrul Radu Miruță, secretarul de stat Sorin Moldovan și echipa lor au avut o contribuție esențială. O întâlnire excelentă: deschisă, directă, cu o înțelegere profundă a mizelor. România nu a venit cu o cerere. A venit cu o poziție, elaborată acasă și transmisă la nivelul potrivit.
