this is one of my least favourite braindead talking points that centrists on here have latched onto. being trans isn’t the same calculus as black people made working with LBJ because he was passing civil rights bills and turek wants to take away the healthcare we already have
Replying to @eupraxianroses @SenatorLuma
LBJ worked with avowed racists and was slinging slurs every day and he passed the Civil & Voting Rights acts.
Sometimes, you gotta talk a little differently than you’ll act.
turek is not every democrat, which it is WHY it is so important to form an impassable wall against his idea to restrict trans healthcare so that he does not BECOME every democrat. there’s room to debate how feasible the pace of progress can be. there isn’t to go backwards.
a really annoying thing about matt yglesias is that he has zero historical knowledge, so he pretends that this is a new development instead of one that’s literally as old as modern democracy itself. read a book!
now that lula’s pulled off the greatest comeback in brazilian history, can he stop bolsonaro and his thugs from overturning the election and save the country one more time
what a fucking titan. only person to ever come back to win the second round in brazil. the power of locking the fuck in
chat is it a good shift map when you're overperforming in every state except the one where your opponents (the mayor of the largest city) tried to rig the vote
dawg there's no way this is real. what are they DOING
