Beast G Review | Cheaper but much better *Please note that I received this mouse as a review unit, but that doesn't change my opinion on it The original Beast X was one of my first lightweight mouse getting into the peripheral space, at the point where I bought one in each size, and some special editions. Even though I always liked it, I wasn't a big fan of the holes, a problem that was subsequently resolved by introducing the model with solid sides, so when I heard about a new material with a solid shell keeping the same shape, it instantly got my attention. I used WLmouse Beast G for about 2 weeks to play a variety of games such as: - Valorant - Aimlab Hand size and grip style 21x11 cm aggressive claw/fingertip The package includes: - Mouse itself - Grips - Dot and full size skates - 8k dongle - Documentation Beast G comes in 3 sizes: mini, medium, and max, available in 3 colorways for the standard edition and 7 for the Feirezai limited edition. $79.00 USD for the standard and $89.00 USD for the limited Feirezai one, the weight depends on the size: 35, 38, and 41±2g. On the official site, there is also a size guide with indications based on hand size, which I found useful. Shape and comfort: Out of the box, the mouse feels extremely solid, the smooth coating and the flat base definitely contribute to the premium feel. Gripping it, I instantly felt comfortable, partly because the shape remains the same as Beast X, which is also the iconic Finalmouse one, a favorite of many. Compared to the previous releases, WLmouse stepped away from magnesium alloy and used a new microcrystalline composite material, which results in a solid shell and a better coating with a lower weight. Internally, the mouse has a carbon fiber piece attached from side to side to reinforce the shell, the weight distribution on the mouse is simply on point. The curve on the clicks makes the mouse comfortable for palm grip users as well, personally, I use an aggressive claw on Medium and Max, while using the mini as a fingertip. In my unit, I didn't experience any creaking or QC issues besides a tiny bit of side play on M1, but some other people did. The provided skates were pretty standard, but it is always nice to have the option for full size skates. I swapped them out for my current favorite skates, Magic Ice Plus from @UnwsGear. I didn't experience any wobble or LOD issues. Product Overview: Switches: Click implementation felt on point, Beast G features some Kailh optical v2. The click feedback and feeling stay consistent across the entire surface, becoming a tiny bit heavier going towards the rear. The side buttons are slightly spaced apart, resulting in an M5 positioned almost at the center of the mouse, which I prefer compared to Beast X. Scroll wheel: The rubberized scroll wheel remains the same as previous releases, the overall feel is light with very clear steps, and clicks are comfortably spammable. Battery Life: The 300 mA battery is enough to last for days playing at a 2-4k polling rate. I had to charge it a few times over two weeks, but it very much depends on yoursettings. Software: Web-based software has everything you may want to tweak in one place, there you can also change the cat dongle lights. Summery: For me, the Beast G is a clear upgrade to the Beast X. For less than $80 USD, you get a solid shell with an iconic shape, and a totally new lightweight material, in 3 different sizes. It easily got into my rotation, and at this price you can hardly find anything better. The coating feels great, and the click implementation feels on point, thanks to the flat base, you don't even have to worry about it being uneven. Definitely wait for batch 2 if you don't want to risk any QC.
