🧠 Converting the world's knowledge into sense. (Prov. 26:4-5) There's a lot of head knowledge & learning out there; true sense comes from a transformed heart.

The greatest danger facing the church today is 'the inability to discern truth from error. It's not recognizing deception. It's being led astray.' It may be #psychology, #pragmatism, #sentimentalism, #liberalism,.. [ @JohnMacArthur speaks with @JonnyArdavanis ] #Read|#Pray|#Think

Exhausted by the celebration of murder, glorification of sin, ridicule of God and His Word, and workers of iniquity seeming to gain the upper hand at every turn? Don't be! We know how the story goes on earth. We lose here; the Lord triumphs over all at the end.

Avoid FOX so much you use Telemundo as a transactional escape? It reduces expert Hispanic broadcasting to a mindless "vibe" & comodifies a dedicated minority space for convenience, centering themselves in a space they don't even understand. share.google/0EFtVcz5XS7f47O…

Welp, here’s our very last @hellofresh delivery. After being loyal customers on and off (mostly on) for 10 years, our faith and integrity demand that the Basham family no longer support a company that would be so disgusting as to promote their product (which is FOOD by the way) by suggesting it can be used by gay men to clear out their rectums of feces in preparation for sodomy. (Yes, this is really what they did). It is actually going to be a little bit of a hardship on us as I continue to receive cancer treatments that require me to travel across country every couple of weeks. But it is a small sacrifice. So we are looking for another meal delivery service if any one can recommend some that are easy prep, yummy, and reasonably healthy. Thanks! As for me in my house, we serve the Lord and we can’t support that.

Correct. Like @WorshipThruSong says often - it should be an elder who curates the songs based on Scripture and the week's study and pulled from doctrinally sound and reliable sources.
The SBC needs exactly 0 "worship leaders."

Al Mohler is definitely musing the same thing!

The Bible is clear that only men should be pastors in a local church and only men should perform the duties of teaching the Bible to men and exercising authority over men within the church. founders.org/articles/only-m…

I always appreciate how Jonny Ardavanis, pastor of Stonebridge Bible Church, intentionally works to equip his congregation to understand the times and to reach out to the lost in both truth and love. In his sermon this morning, "What Does the Bible Say about Homosexuality?", he shared important guidance on the error of believing that it's loving to affirm others in their sin: "[Paul] says, 'even though they know the truth, they do the same thing, and they give hearty approval to those who practice them.' Which means what? The most hateful, evil group of people that I could possibly imagine on planet Earth are churches that know the truth of what the Bible says and say, 'We affirm you.' To give hearty affirmation and approval to what God condemns is not love. It is the epitome of hatred. If I saw someone playing, pouring gasoline all over their body, and lighting matches, I would not say, 'Hey, is that fun for you?' I would say, 'You're in danger. You're in danger! This is going to destroy you! Don't do this!' It's not loving to say, 'Well, that's different than me.' No, that's hatred... The point of the law is to show people they are at odds with God, that they need a Savior, that they need to turn from sin, to repent, which is the first word of the gospel. And the church is the pillar and buttress of the truth. We are to herald this truth in love. And it is not love to hide what God hates. If you do not tell people to repent of this sin, you're aiding and abetting them on their way to a Christless eternity in Hell. Furthermore, you're denying them real joy in this life. Now, is there good news for the homosexual or for the transgender? You better believe it. Turn back with me to 1 Corinthians 6 where we started..." Link to full sermon below

ā€œWhen women take over a culture, men become weak. When men become weak, they can be conquered. They can be conquered. You’re watching that happen in this country. As more and more and more and more women ascend to power, more and more men become weaker and weaker and weaker, and the level of vulnerability just keeps escalating.ā€ — John MacArthur

This is the foundation of so much here. One camp believes compromising on Biblical truth is necessary for the greater long term good of Christian freedom. The other lets the chips fall where they may, not worrying about tomorrow, but standing on God's truth today, above all else.
At the SBC in 2016, Russell Moore answers the question about building mosques. The question: ā€œI would like to know how in the world someone in the Southern Baptist Convention can support the defending of rights for Muslims to construct mosques in the united states when these people threaten our very way of existence as Christians and Americans.Ā  They are murdering Christians, beheading Christians, imprisoning Christians all over the world.Ā  Do you actually believe that if Jesus Christ were here today, He would actually support this and that He would stand up and say, well, let us support the rights of those Baal worshippers to erect temples to Baal?Ā  Do you believe that Dr. Moore?ā€ He says he believes in ā€œsoul freedom.ā€ Wait for him to say ā€œthat a government that has the power to outlaw people from assembling….ā€ Russell Moore: ā€œYou know sometimes we have to deal with questions that are really complicated and we have to spend a lot of time thinking them through and not sure what the final result was going to be.Ā  Sometimes we have really hard decisions to make.Ā This isn’t one of those things.ā€ ā€œAnd brothers and sisters, when you have a government that says we can decide whether or not a house of worship can be constructed upon the theological beliefs of that house of worship, then there are going to be Southern Baptist churches in San Francisco and in New York and throughout the country who are not going to be able to build. And the bigger issue, though, is not one of self-interest.ā€ ā€œWhat it means to be a Baptist is to support soul freedom for everybody.ā€ ā€œThe bigger issue is that we have been called to the gospel of Jesus Christ. A government that has the power to outlaw people from assembling together and saying what they believe – that does not turn people into Christians, that turns people into pretend Christians and it sends them straight to hell. The answer to Islam is not government power. The answer is the gospel of Jesus Christ and the new birth that comes from that.ā€
