I think it's funny that the new episode felt like the writers overcorrecting BoG Vegeta being humiliated when this is still definitely happening next arc. A 100 more bingo dances wouldn't be nearly as bad as Goku needing to swoop in and save the day because you fumbled this hard.

Also them removing all the scenes of Vegeta sucking up to Beerus hurts Vegeta’s characterization. He does all those things because he cares about the Earth and knows that if he doesn’t suck up to Beerus, he’ll get tired and just blow it up. The movie explicitly states that.

Additionally lowkey I thought the scenes were pretty funny. The bingo dance and Vegeta making takoyaki were some of the best bits in the arc I get this show wants a more serious tone, but you can’t remove ALL the whimsy and comedy from DB

Ironically, I think the changes in DBS Beerus make Vegeta look worse. In the original version (& film), he’s throws his pride aside to protect everyone, even though he looks like an idiot. Now he’s just watching from afar, standing by, too scared to act
