i had a 5.41 KD in Black Ops 1 because i was the campiest sniper of all time
Since then i’ve easily held a 2 KD in every Call of Duty mainly quickscoping and shotgunning
Nowadays SBMM is so insane that the literal BEST Players in the world can’t hold a 1.3 KD. That is nuts

when I was new to COD I watched YT gameplays from people like xJawz, FearCrads and TheMarkOfJ - all of which had at least a 5kd - and even though I was a shitter at the time, seeing these people shred lobbies and knowing it was possible made me want to get better at the game and I sank in an insane amount of hours to do so.
what does an account that is played on by some of the best players in the world collectively averaging a 1.27kd tell people? That there is no point improving at the game.
Call of Duty with its current SBMM implementation in casual playlists has to be one of the only games out there where getting better at the game makes your experience worse.

Fake PS5 emulators on GitHub are spreading password-stealing malware.
Security researchers found fake PS5 emulator projects, including KyttyPS5 and AnyPS5, that are actually being used to distribute malware.
The malware can:
>Add exclusions to Microsoft Defender to avoid detection
>Steal saved passwords and other sensitive information
>Delete its own files to hide what it did
>Use fake or lookalike GitHub repositories to appear legitimate
The researchers warn that emulator fans are being targeted because they’re more likely to download and run unofficial software.
Yeah, we’re supposed to say idly by and just say “this is the new norm”. While the player count keeps dwindling more and more because of this crap. Call of Duty as a franchise could die tomorrow and it would be a good thing. (Let the devs put their time in fixing the old games.)

Exactly this. Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developers’ PC games into Steamworks’ social walled garden where players can’t talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores.

A lot of games use Steamworks only for authentication to allow for crossplay and do the rest themselves.
