3 chapters into Part 2 and it kinda does feel like normal FE. Or at least to the one I can compare it to-- Fates Conquest. Mind you, im using Theodora, the first character I completed Part 1 with and she has the least recruited characters, lowest levels, lowest skill levels, lowest blessings. Don't think the game did a good enough job preparing for this (On hard). It does give you options to help with levels. And you can go back replay a Part 1 if needed.
All in all I am having a lot more fun here.
Finished Dietruch's Part 1. And with that all Part 1s are done after 125 hours 😤. I now go to war! Part 2.

I get we want to have turn based back in Final Fantasy but is this really a fair comparison?
Rebirth released on PS5 first.
I would say Revelation would be a better comparison but even then you gotta play two other games to play it...

#14 Beat for 2026, Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave (Switch 2) Did 2 out of 4 Flame Lords part 1 and still clocking in over 130 hours. I don’t think a Fire Emblem game needs all this content and life sim elements but I still had a blast majority of my time. May return for DLC one day..
So I'll say being 100 hours in... I have not felt those hours.
I think it's because the gameplay is fun and the loop that everyone is split on is kinda simple. There are times I can auto activity for like 30 turns left but I like to get my "hands dirty" so to speak and use them all to train or grind some levels a bit.
It also helps that all four have different enough stories along with different antagonists to keep me interested. All four routes im always like "who the freak is this new character?" So I think that goes a long way.
Still super curious how Part 2 and 3 are handled.
Also after 100 hours I haven't felt the need to turn off battle animations entirely. I just have them on for only my turn.
That's a shame.
Mass Effect...
Sometimes you just gotta be glad it existed.... Along with releasing in the time period that it did.
This.

Tbh, Reviews for FF mainline have never really been that bad tho outside of XIV 1.0 and maybe Lightning returns if you count it. The series even it's most divisive moments has always played decently with critics, its just been fan reception where things get tense.

In this latest #NIKKE lore, I discuss the most intense chapters of the story thus far! youtu.be/m1WNgaXn_9E
I love PC gaming but issues do arise. But I'm always going to choose to game on PC primarily unless I have no choice (ie. GTA6, Fire Emblem)
And there's not a day that goes by that fear turning on my PC and my SSD and Harddrives are corrupt (could happen on console too I guess)

If there's one thing I learned about the internet, it's that social media is very good at fooling the average person(Not you Shadow, lol).
If the character designs of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 were that bad, why is it that so many artists and cosplayers still produce content from that entry the most?
If Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as a game was so bad, why did none of the entries/re-releases afterwards sell nearly as well as XB2?(I'm not saying sales numbers equals quality of product. I'm saying if the dislike of this game was truly the majority consensus, why did none of that support go into buying the entries that they claimed were superior?)
Why did Pyra/Mythra in Smash Brothers bring more eyes and attention to the Xenoblade franchise way more than Shulk ever did in Smash 4?
This entire concept of this goes well beyond just this game but to me, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a case study showcasing how social media, generally, doesn't represent real life. The majority of gamers/fans are not the ones living their daily lives scrolling/arguing on social media.
The majority of gamers/fans are the ones who buy the games and enjoy them for what they are privately. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is clearly not as hated as many people claim it is, but if you're on social media a lot, I can see why you'd think so.
