In a unanimous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling in the case of United States v. Hemani in which the U.S. Department of Justice prosecuted a U.S. citizen for unlawful possession of a firearm while being an unlawful user of a controlled substance (marijuana), holding that his prosecution under 18 U.S.C. §922(g)(3) was inconsistent with the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. While many states have legalized marijuana in some form, it is still illegal on a federal level. Prior to this decision, in the view of the federal government, any use of marijuana, whether legal in your state or not, automatically prohibited you from purchasing or possessing a firearm. This decision removes the legal justification used by the DoJ.

Every aerospace engineer I know absolutely enjoyed this film. It is filled with historical truths and nuance that lead our country to be the peak of space exploration.
Denying our past, and the accomplishments of those who came before us is anti-American.
So happy that meaningful progression is back, the first horizon had something that none of the sequels managed to capture.

The only thing I can hope moving forward from tonight is that people around trump will reign him in, but I have a feeling that this election will only make him feel invincible. Things will get more expensive, and rhetoric will get worse, before things get better

Effective immediately, VA is halting enforcement of the interim final rule, Evaluative Rating: Impact of Medication.
VA issued the rule to clarify existing policy and protect Veterans’ benefits in the wake of an ongoing court action. But many interpreted the rule as something that could result in adverse consequences.
While VA does not agree with the way this rule has been characterized, the department always takes Veterans’ concerns seriously. To alleviate these concerns, VA will continue to collect public comments regarding the rule, but it will not be enforced at any time in the future.
Under my leadership, VA is ensuring that everyone applying for benefits receives everything they have earned as quickly and conveniently as possible. This includes reducing the backlog of Veterans waiting for benefits by more than 60 percent. We will continue these improvements on behalf of America’s Veterans, families, caregivers and survivors.

What the Democrats won’t tell you: The rule simply formalizes VA’s longstanding practice – since 1958 – of determining disability ratings based on Veterans’ service-related disabilities and any medications they are taking to treat those disabilities. The rule will have no impact on any Veteran’s current disability rating.
