There are so many rumors going on about Suwayda and also possible Israeli occupation of Daraa and exiling the population to Jordan, but some are really written to take attention, like the below quoted so-called proposal Daraa in change for Aqaba-Wadi Rom will never be accepted by Jordan even if real. People from Daraa (Daraawis) have quite notorious sterotypes; uneducated, backward, tribalist, conservative, stubborn. Their accent is made fun of, they are known to be causing trouble to the state authorities. Jordan already has enough problems in sense of demographic and social issues, mainly between Palestinian-Jordanian divide among the population that slowly rots the pillars of the Kingdom. Yes, Daraa "could" have been a part of Jordan during decolonization as its water and irrigation systems as well as economy is like an extension of today's Jordan, but train has departed long ago for that swap. Daraa sits on a fine plain with good harvest, but as long as Jordan has the support of UK and US it will never be short on basic needs in sense of wheat, barley and anything they need as they are the shield for Israel as we have seen in Israel-Iran War. The horrible part is the land swap is speculated (I do not believe at all!) to give Aqaba, the only port of Jordan, to Israel as well as Wadi Rum and Petra zone, which are the heart of Jordan tourism income. I frequently visited Wadi Rum before it was popular and people had only received few guests, have great friends there and they are very much Jordanian patriots. Some Bedouins can be okay to live with Israel, but not Aqaba-Wadi Rum Bedouins. Annexing Suwayda will be a suicidal strategy of "defensible borders" of Israeli doctrine. That area by means have no natural defensive areas and even as right now, today, people do go back and forth between the border illegally or semi-legally. Giving Suwayda and Daraa to Jordan will put too much stress over already fragile Jordan, adding Daraawis and Druze who are aliens to Jordanian society is also not a smart way. I do not take such speculations serious, but that goes for my two cents.

Jordanian Army mislabelled a group of Syrian children playing near the border as armed infiltrators. Jordanian Army released this morning a statement claiming a group of 14 gunmen attempted to infiltrate Jordan from #Syria under "heavy cover fire", resulting in casualties before retreating to Syria. But the statement was deleted less than an hour later - and without any explanation. Why? Because the "group of gunmen" turned out to be a group of children (see photo below) playing near the border - on the Syrian side. They came under fire from Jordanian border guards & were rescued following an intervention of Syrian border guards - no casualties are reported. Mistakes happen, but misidentifying kids playing as armed infiltrators then inventing details such as the gunmen advancing under "heavy cover fire" is a serious red flag regarding the reliability of Jordanian Army's statements. Not only it's another violation of Syrian sovereignty, but also a shocking level of amateurism by the Jordanian Army, which just few days ago killed 7 Syrian civilians, incl. children, & claimed to have destroyed a "major #ISIS weapons depot" - evidence of which we're still waiting to see.

The Iran war had already sent oil from $65 to above $100 in March With crude already around $115, could renewed fighting send prices to $150? Unlikely: we think $120-$130 is a more plausible range Here's why: 1/5

Postmortem on my Knesset election predictions: The day before the election, this was my projection for how many mandates each party would get. In parentheses, I’ll show the difference compared to the actual results. Coalition: Likud: 23 (−4) UTJ: 8 (+1) Shas: 8 (+2) OY: 7 (=) RZP: 7 (+1) 53 seats (=) Opposition: Yashar: 21 (=) Beyachad: 15 (+3) Democrats: 8 (=) YB: 8 (+1) 52 seats (+4) Arab Parties: Joint List: 9 (−2) Ra’am: 6 (−2) 15 seats (−4) On its face, my biggest success was projecting the exact proportion of voters that would support the coalition bloc. However, I underestimated how large a share of the coalition would be comprised of Likud itself. I must admit I drank some of the kool-aid from MSM polls that showed Likud hemorrhaging support. In the end they lost 5 seats, but still gained an additional 52,000 votes compared to 2022. Likud’s relative success came at the expense of other coalition partners, most notably Shas. Due to polling data and demography, I expected the party to lose some support compared to the 11 seats it won in 2022, but still receive 8. The truth is that Shas is a dying party. It doesn’t pass the electoral threshold among first-time voters, the new generation of Mizrahi religious Zionists prefer Ben-Gvir, and many traditional voters from the periphery opted for Netanyahu. I was aware of these trends but didn’t anticipate such a significant drop. I slightly overestimated Smotrich’s performance, as I was expecting Religious Zionists to come out to vote at slightly higher proportions in Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem, and Ma’ale Adumim. Smotrich and especially Feiglin’s bases are higher propensity, so it makes sense that some polls over-indexed their support. As for the opposition, I assumed they would accrue a larger proportion of both the overall and Jewish vote. I nailed Yashar and the Democrats’ performance, but the error stems from my severe overestimation of Bennett’s performance. Again, I drank the Kool-Aid from MSM polls about a Beyachad rebound in the final two weeks of the election. Part of this can be explained by my lack of accounting for record-high Arab turnout. I must admit I thought Bennett would garner a small but nevertheless notable contingent of ’22 Netanyahu voters, primarily upscale secular center-right Jews from areas like Hod Hasharon, Ra’anana, and Kfar Saba (I know these areas have always supported the opposition, but I thought Bennett could flip some votes from the Likud in those areas). I think my error was due to a subconscious bias as I'm terminally online and Bennett did a good job promoting his list on social media. And I didn’t foresee 78% Arab turnout, neither among northern or southern Bedouins, let alone the Arabs in the Galilee or the center.

With a population largely made up of children, in Yemen they are primary stakeholders, their harsh reality is in stark contrast to younger demographics in other societies.
The sole source behind this propaganda is Asharq Al-Awsat, a publication wholly owned by the Saudi Research and Media Group. Anything concerning Yemen published by Asharq Al-Awsat should be readily dismissed.

🚫 CLAIM: Today, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it destroyed a U.S. military sea drone in the Strait of Hormuz. This claim is FALSE, just like many other IRGC lies this week. ✅ FACT: All U.S. military unmanned surface vessels in the Middle East are accounted for, including a squadron of advanced sea drones on patrol in the Strait of Hormuz supporting CENTCOM's defensive layer.
