Fantastic to have this collaboration with the Greenland GEUS Office and @DrPennyHow kick off! Looking forward to seeing the data roll in not only for science, but for the local and international outreach it'll allow us to do 🇬🇱🇬🇧 @Arctic_Office @NERCscience @LaugesenAnne

Phones - not just for robocalls! Maybe I should start answering the random numbers that call me🤣
The surreal moment you get a phone call from a strange number, and it's @DrPennyHow on a sat phone next to a glacier in Greenland asking which way I wanted a time lapse camera to point 😅

I know I have lots of friends with great advice on this - that's where I learned most of my tricks! Time to share with the world and make this easier for everyone ☺️
The @UKPolarNetwork, the UK branch of APECS, has assembled a survey to examine people’s experiences of toileting and menstruation during remote #fieldwork to help us put together training materials on the topic. ✏️ Please complete the survey: bit.ly/3Y3ydkM

Very thorough survey - I certainly have lots to say after multiple fixed-term positions (including a 10% teaching contract). And always happy to discuss my experiences if anyone else needs support!

I am constantly impressed by my multilingual colleagues. I only did one year of undergrad in a foreign language and that was tough - can't imagine how much harder academia would be!
How hard is it to do science in a language that’s not your first language? We quantified the severity of #languagebarriers for non-native English speakers when reading/publishing papers and attending/presenting at international conferences. doi.org/10.1371/journal.pbio… 1/9
