many people see having trans women partners as a "lesser" version of cis women. This is widespread in cis circles, but also internalised by trans women themselves. (like in the QRT and attached comic made as vent art by a trans woman) We aspire to be cis women, and feel insecure that everyone sees us the way we've been conditioned to see ourselves: as broken, half-formed subhumans. I've dated cis women and trans women, there's nothing special or divinely feminine about dating a cis woman. they are just women, like trans women. on the other hand, I've feel so much more instant connection, shared trauma and understanding when dating other trans women. I would happily have a relationship with a cis woman if she was as kind and understanding as my trans partners and we were romantically/sexually compatible. however in my experience, it's harder to find cis women who are like this. I date trans women because I chose to, because the women who I fell in love with happened to be trans, not because I'm unworthy of the love of a cis person.
