Every friendship/relationship/ association is a give-and-take! It is NEVER a one-way street. People who think they have given so much (martyr complex), didn't the other person also give you something? An ear, empathy, time, care, motivation, support, encouragement, appreciation?

Intelligence and being well read are two different matters. To have a wide range of interest, one must be well read, curiuos and inquisitive. To hold interesting conversation is a skill that needs to be acquired.

If you have to ask, and they say, "they're just a friend"- yeah, you already know. Walk away.
One can be intelligent and still be extremely narrow in their range of topics of interest. Some people I know can only talk about their daily routine, nothing more nothing less.
It appalls me how they can be so narrow-minded when they have so much more potential!
It's a pity!

What I Actually Look for on a Food Label as a Dietitian
The front of a packet may say “high protein,” “multigrain” or “sugar-free.” But how do you know what you're actually buying?
When I read a food label, I look beyond the marketing claims.
Here are the things I check:
1. Serving size: The calories and nutrients listed may be for just one serving, not the entire packet.
2. Protein and fibre: Do they provide a meaningful amount for the serving size?
3. Sugar: I check total sugar, added sugar and the ingredients used to sweeten the product. Honey and jaggery count too.
4. Ingredient list: Ingredients are generally listed by weight. The first few tell you a lot about what makes up the product.
5. Saturated fat and sodium: Both matter, particularly when managing cardiovascular risk and blood pressure.
6. Additives: Their presence alone doesn't make a food unhealthy. The overall nutritional profile matters more.
7. Front-of-pack claims: “Natural,” “multigrain” and “sugar-free” don't automatically mean healthier.
8. The bigger picture: Portion size, frequency of consumption, nutritional quality and your individual health needs all matter.
As a dietitian, I'm not looking for a perfect product. I'm looking for information that helps me make an informed choice.
Next time you shop, turn the packet around. The ingredient list and nutrition panel deserve as much attention as the claims on the front.

I have seen many doctors whose day starts at 9 AM and who keep seeing patients until 10 PM at night.
I personally know one or two such doctors, and I agree that they earn good money too.
But it’s not as easy as it looks. Seeing the first patient in the morning and treating the last patient at night with the same energy takes a lot of hard work. It’s not easy at all.

The healthiest habit might be setting a boundary, taking a break or asking for help. Not everything can be fixed with a smoothie.

So, is Gyanesh Kumar no longer an issue for political parties?
Is his resignation no longer being demanded?
After piggybacking on CJP and other youth organisations for a week, the opposition parties have gone into vacation mode.
Some face arrest, some face lathis, some receive takedown notices, some make rounds of courts and police stations, while others enjoy vacations in foreign countries.

Please bring back calling women (or your man) by sweet names, not only with our loved ones, but also with strangers. “Baby” and “babe” are cute, but those are for mere mortals. We need to start using these again: darling, honey, sugar, peach, sweet pea, biscuit, boo, my dear, sweetheart, pumpkin, buttercup, sunshine, doll, precious, angel face, mon cher, mon amour
My AC does not have a timer so it is always a question whether to keep it on the whole night or cool the room before sleeping and put it off just before hitting the bed.
