One of the first Black millionaires in Miami was a Bahamian. Instead of working for money, he wanted to be paid in land. He used that land to create a refuge for Black Americans and Bahamians. Bahamians and Black Americans worked together to build the infrastructure here. That’s why I have love for Black Americans as a Bahamian. We share a history in Miami.
