We're so excited to share this commission by Young Poet in Residence @lukeworthy11 ! His writing on our theme of 'brains & consciousness' took him to tardigrades, and the poem is an absolute stunner. Here's a short clip but read & watch in full here bit.ly/Luke_Worthy💚🦠🧠

This event was out of this (spiritual) world and we are THRILLED to share Charlotte Shevchenko Knight and Safia Kahn's resurrections of Lesia Ukrainka and Mai Ziadeh. Both of them write movingly about their chosen dead woman poet, and write in response: deadwomenpoets.com/blog-1
ALT last resorts by Charlotte Shevchenko Knight after Lesia Ukrainka in the sanatorium in the isolated forest someone is thinking of someone the blue medicinal air touches someone reminding her of healing mountains the power of positive thinking someone she left behind could not keep within her rattling consumption exiled on the brink of history someone will be a great significance her face the face of currency & bricks thrown at riots her name the name for the only road left in desertion none of this matters to someone someone will keep thinking of someone sighing into her grave the rot of longing living on in her lungs
We're delighted to share these commissions from our 2023 residencies, featuring @shevchenkoknight & Safia Khan for @deadwomentweet & our young poet-in-residence @lukeworthy11
