Wonderful article relating both the historic & still available Sheldon Mountain House (1966) and of course our luxury focused Sheldon Chalet (2018). #backcountryskiing

This is wrong. The largest exposed granite on earth is the Denali (Mt. McKinley) batholith. As a batholith at 20,310' high, its flanks extend dozens of miles in all directions. I took this video this week at the Don Sheldon Ampitheater 10 miles from the summit (SE flank).

Hi Chase, its true, we've been intercepting all the snow. Were at 16' 8" since September 1st! @SheldonChalet
Red aurora now 🥳
The whole Don Sheldon Ampitheater lit in red too! @AuroraNotify
Good morning from the flanks of Denali at the Don Sheldon Ampitheater where we've received 10.5' (3.2m) of snow since September 1. See you soon!
We are thankful for all that paid the ultimate and selfless sacrifice. Here's to Memorial Day reflections.
Spectacular Aurora continues with rare excited helium (orange, white and purples at different altitudes) and argon (lavender) gasses! In this timelapse all the gas spectrum is represented including oxygen (green & reds at different altitudes), nitrogen and hydrogen (blues).
Here is what ours looked like in April 2023 ..
Dump fuel of SpaceX rocket's upper stage during classified mission (NORL-69) surprised people all over Europe and was caught by livestream at Manchester Airport airlive.net/space/2025/03/24…
The show just arrived .. even with the bright moon .. @AuroraNotify
We are delighted to be redefining global class luxury.
Alaska’s vast wilderness has long been a dream for adventurers, but luxury travelers had few options—until now. In @RobbReport @jenrunsworld explores how @SheldonChalet is redefining exclusivity in the wild, bringing Alpine-style sophistication to Denali’s Ruth Glacier.
“Sheldon Chalet offers neither cell phone reception nor Wi-Fi, but it does offer wonderful panoramic views of a 90-square-kilometer glacial amphitheater and, at night, a truly psychedelic spectacle of the Northern Lights in the sky,” Murphy writes.
Built by the family of legendary Alaskan pilot Don Sheldon, this hexagonal retreat blends adventure with indulgence. “…the interior is indeed reminiscent of exclusive Alpine chalets,” Murphy notes, highlighting the king-size suites, panoramic glacier views, and curated Alaskan cuisine.
Even the journey is breathtaking. “First, the helicopter flies over frozen taiga and turquoise glacial lakes… Finally, the chalet comes into view, standing like an alpine lighthouse at the head of the approximately 55-kilometer-long Ruth Glacier,” she describes.
With its unparalleled setting, expert-led glacier excursions, and nights spent under the Northern Lights, Sheldon Chalet offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience that can’t be found anywhere else on Earth.
Adventure, exclusivity, and the wild beauty of Alaska could be in your next story, Sheldon Chalet is an extraordinary destination waiting to be explored.

That super moon is under pursuit by the green dragon! @AuroraNotify
Our family has been involved in facilitating science for over 70 years! This project discovered our Great Gorge is 8,085' deep (including ice depth). That's the deepest in North America (Hells Canyon is not happy!) and rivals most other global locations!
A famed explorer was sure the ice in an Alaskan glacier hid something profound.
Ninety years later, scientists have put forth the strongest evidence yet that he was right. nyti.ms/3ZXUdk1
