Recently a bug report was submitted to the @aave bug bounty program, which highlights a security vulnerability affecting Aave v2 and v3 pools. The vulnerability has been identified as a high-risk issue, and Aave has taken prompt action to address the matter. The reported vulnerability has been disclosed to the Aave community, and a governance proposal has been created to remove the current freezing protections and apply a more specific solution: disabling the stable rate mode for all assets which have it. The proposal also includes a plan for unpausing the affected pools. This incident demonstrates the importance of having a comprehensive security coverage in place. Aave's security audits have identified the vulnerability, and the bug bounty program has allowed the protocol to address the issue promptly.
