The US exit from Paris under Trump avoided a federal carbon overlay like Canada's post-2016 framework and ZEV rules. Provincial schemes in Alberta, BC and Quebec started earlier, but the national push after the agreement layered on costs that now face pushback from trade pressures and industrial realities on both sides of the border.

*AT&T moves all customer service call center jobs back to the US* Canadians:
AMERICA ONSHORE 🇺🇸 AT&T just announced that they’re bringing customer service call center jobs back to the U.S. This is a win for American jobs and for every customer who gets frustrated speaking with overseas operators. AT&T: “By the end of next year, all AT&T home internet, home phone, and post-paid wireless consumers will be served by Care experts located in the United States.” Thank you, AT&T.

Yet another interesting tid bit.
War risk insurance for the western Black Sea (JWC-listed area outside Bulgarian/Romanian territorial waters) is mainly provided by the London market: Lloyd’s syndicates and IUA companies. Capacity is predominantly UK-based. EU/EEA participants include Nordic mutuals such as the Swedish Club, Alandia and some P&I clubs. Exact headcount fluctuates with market participation; no fixed public tally of British versus EU writers exists.

Honest assessment. Canadians have always acted entitled and unaware of the benevolence of the US we are used to that. When you added stupid and vocal to the mix many Americans decided f'k them. Not just Americans. Now with the steel mess the US unions will make sure Canada gets no reprieve from them either. The revenue from tariffs will not go away and will take too long to sneak back on the tax payers to help save you. You are f'ked and you can thank carny and your king. No going back now, why act like it.

This press conference was in the afternoon following a 45 minute telephone call between Zelenskyy and Marco Rubio while the Ukraine President was traveling by train to Norway. The tone of Zelenskyy in this press conference was substantially different than hours before he talked to Secretary Rubio. Substantively, with all of the recent developments on the Starlink story, it sounds to me like this was the conversation where Rubio essentially said to Zelenskyy we know what you are doing (manipulating Starlink to target inside Russia), and Zelenskyy didn't refute the matter because he couldn't. Hence, the tone change. U.S. and EU politicians, however, are intentionally obfuscating the difference between Starlink and Starshield in order to create a 'Ukraine victim' narrative for use against @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk .
This is a very interesting public presser from Ukraine President Zelenskyy, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere and a subdued Finnish President Alexander Stubb.  This press event follows President Trump Emissary Steve Witkoff meeting with Zelenskyy, Stoere and Stubb. Steve Witkoff leaves Norway and is going to St Petersburg to meet with Russian Federation Vladimir Putin tomorrow. When asked why Witkoff was not present {10:00}, the host PM Jonas Stoere says, “this is a press conference among political leaders,” and then quickly moves on.  Both Stoere and Stubb are very subdued from their prior public statements that put themselves in opposition to the U.S. Trump administration and now suddenly reverse and say it is important for them to remain engaged with the USA effort and for all EU nations to support discussions with Russia. Following Stubb {at 13:00} Zelenskyy notes that Witkoff traveling to meet with Putin tomorrow is very important, and he is very happy that “early warning systems” are working and “it’s great.”  Zelenskyy repeated referenced the call with Secretary Marco Rubio in outlining a shift in tone that is suddenly very appreciative of the USA support.  A very curious shift. As previously noted, there is an early plan for China (Xi), Russia (Putin) and the USA (Trump) to meet on the sidelines of the APEC summit next month in China.  Little man Zelenskyy clarifies his prior comments about a trilateral meeting by saying that his comments were directed to a possible U.S, Russia, Ukraine trilateral meeting and not the APEC sideline. At 16:00 Peter Baker (NYT) obviously notes the tone change visible in this presser and asks about what is going on?  Baker was taken aback when Zelenskyy, Stubb and Stoere affirm the positive and constructive meeting with Steve Witkoff, and “there is nothing to gain” by looking at things said yesterday, said Stoere. Finland President Stubb joins with very complimentary statements of Steve Witkoff affirming his belief this meeting has clarified a lot of issues that now lead toward peace.   “Today was a big success” Stubb emphasized as the press conference concludes. It sounds to me like Secretary Rubio used his linguistic battle skills to pin Zelenskyy on the issue of stirring up trouble and that set up Steve Witkoff for a solid meeting without the EU political drama and narrative constructs of recent weeks. The trio of Zelenskyy, Stoere and Stubb looked considerably smaller in this presser perhaps realizing their miniscule stature in the grand scheme of geopolitical affairs.    It will be very interesting to see how the U.S. media react to this shifted tone from today – particularly as it relates to the New York Times and Peter Baker’s narrative engineering effort. theconservativetreehouse.com…

Might be the best I've heard it put.
Replying to @JakeAuch
I find it hard to believe the party of Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Ann Richards, Sam Nunn, Scoop Jackson, Tip O'Neill and Sam Rayburn has devolved into Somali grifters, Texas cultists, assorted anti-Semitic crackpots, abject seditionists and Muslim Brotherhood jihadis. I’ll not vote for so much as a dog catcher you sponsor, as it helps your lunatics.

Negotiations with Canada will be simple soon. Base rate of 15% and negotiate a few carve outs. If you really think about it the heavy lifting is done.

Europe has been a basket case ever since its demand outweighed it's resources. That's why it wants the US to fight Russia, Canada as a trade in for UK to rejoin the EU and is terrified of Chinese trade negotiations. It's only real hope was tech and it has been strangling that baby in the crib for years. So long it's hard to call it accidental.
