Micheál Martin has finally met his toughest opponent on the triple lock: Micheál Martin.
Well, he did invite us to go back over his record
Disappointing from Stella. Labour continuing to both-sides a genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians while simultaneously ignoring the perpetrators of those war crimes clearly stating they have no intention of there ever being a Palestinian state. #FreePalestine 🇵🇸
What has happened in Israel and Palestine over these past three years is catastrophic.
Leaders in both countries often claim religious justification to distract from accountability. We should never be deterred from calling out their failures of political leadership that have led to this place.
To champion a two state solution - a safe Israel and a free Palestine - is not racist. It is to understand the citizens of both deserve better and fight for them all accordingly.
Today’s behaviour from the Green Party will not keep a single citizen there safe or deliver progress towards peace. It will however inevitably add to the hostility Jews in Walthamstow and beyond are facing as they are again labelled responsible for these horrors, not the politicians directing them.
If you stand for peace and justice, you have to stand for it for everyone. The Greens can now no longer claim to do either.

Our media (and I'm in it) have a hell of a lot to answer for when it comes to the sectarian mess we're witnessing in relation to the Garvaghy Road 'stand-off'.
Platforming (the public broadcaster right up there), pumping up and legitimising certain hate-filled individuals doesn't end well.
I can think of a certain individual who has openly endorsed paramilitary killers as defenders of 'our community' and stood up for state murderers (the good guys), while making it a life's mission to lambast paramilitaries — and most people — who weren't from this person's own community (the bad guys).
That's just one point amongst the cesspit of sectarianism this person has published online. It doesn't end at sectarianism of course, throw in racism etc with endorsement of Israel's killing, ethnic cleansing and oppression of Palestinians. But I've heard journalists praise this person behind the scenes as 'smart' etc. Folk on here who see themselves as 'moderates' have also lavished praise on this individual at times, completely ignoring the dehumanising, amoral output.
This place is awash with double-standards, worst of it is those who indulge those double standards (ie rationalise unionists/loyalists marching in areas where they cause offence, when they wouldn't dream of rationalising nationalists/republicans doing the same) are seen as the sensible, moderate voices of reason here.
It's like war-mongering centrists:
"Don't vote for those far-left and far-ight lunatics. Vote for us, we're holding the centre ground. We've backed what experts call a genocide and supported the killing and oppression of millions of black and brown people around the world in defence of western democracy."
To everyone crying that a New Ireland will never come about because the nationalist community won’t “share a road” aka won’t allow one Orange parade to reopen old sectarian wounds, you forget there’s c2,500 roads shared for 6 months of each year without complaint.

Carla Lockhart missed her first day in Westminster to oppose dual-language signs in a street near the Garvaghy Rd where all responses voted IN FAVOUR of the sign.
She was objecting to protect the "finely balanced good relations in the area" & avoid raising "tensions".

While people talk about Drumcree this DUP & OO member is not on the front pages. All part of the plan.
Convicted paedophile #JeffreyDonaldson who raped a primary school aged girl when he was aged 25/26, was described in court today by his defence barrister as a man of ‘previous good character’. It was also noted that he had not offended in the last 18 years.
Not offended or not caught offending?

“untainted”, sectarianism, and terrorist flags do not make a culture “open and welcoming” just as bilingual street signage does not make one closed or unwelcoming.
Indeed Gav, indeed. Here, talking about “terrorist transporters” getting sent home, didn’t Winky attend this terrorist “show of strength” in your constituency while on bail for transporting guns and ammunition? Does that mean terrorism is trivial in your area?

3 men, father & sons, pled guilty after an attack on a 14 year old girl & her baby nephew with a MACHETE.
The brave girl shielded the baby with her body.
There have been no riots.
And the far right tell us white people don’t commit bladed attacks…
Thoughts with the victims

Winner at Docs Ireland Film Festival 📽️🏆
Ross McDonnell Award for Best Cinematography in an Irish Documentary (in honour of the Irish cinematographer Ross McDonnell)
'This compelling feature confronts one of the most devastating realities of our time, bearing witness to the systematic targeting of civilians, among them those who risk daily their life to tell a different story than the narrative propagandas of the perpetrators.
Through a camera that is attentive to the smallest human details yet unflinching in the face of violence, this film observes with rare commitment and courage the profound consequences the targeting of journalists has for truth, accountability, and our collective understanding of war, creating a powerful visual testimony whose patience, engagement, and relentless gaze becomes an act of resistance in itself.'
The Ross McDonnell Award for Best Cinematography in an Irish Documentary goes to Journacide: The War on Truth, directed by Sean Murray.
