Putting together plans for our interactive in-person event next week. Also looking to ensure I’m in touch with people in & beyond universities with interests in interspecies learning on wellbeing. Give me a shout if you are someone I should be connecting with! [email protected]

Amazing day - I think the country has overwhelmingly rejected playground politics, elitism, name calling and austerity. I hope an era of inclusive, grown up, human and planet kind politics has arrived ... 🙏

Thank you @DrSophieKH I find this new draft guidance devastating! In addition, the evidence tells us children are reaching puberty earlier: when teaching in the 90s some girls began menstruation in year 4: age 8-9
The new draft relationships, sex & health education (RSHE) policy set out by the government poses some serious risks for children & young people. Imposing age restrictions is dangerous & not teaching about diversity and gender is damaging. Evidence tells us this. #rse #RSHE

I completely agree @TheFlyingChild waiting for children to disclose they are being abused has never and will never work. They need knowledge and vocabulary as well as safe opportunities to tell. This is a desperately sad development 😢
Some will find this post hard to read, but CSA is endemic in our society and we can’t shy away from these conversations because they make us feel uncomfortable. At the age of 9 I was raped, by a family member after years of CSA. Age-appropriate sex education might have made a difference to my life. How do children even recognise what’s happening to them if we don’t equip them with the words and knowledge? ‘Speak out’ we tell our children. ‘Tell a trusted adult…’ but how can they, when we aren’t speaking about these subjects ourselves? This is a concerning and regressive decision that will further silence child victims. The only people who will benefit are those with a ‘not in my world’ mindset, and those who sexually abuse children. w.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-6…

🌟 This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we advocate that emotions are valid, and it's time we start acknowledging them. #AttuneProject looks into creating #supportiveenvironments and #challengingnorms. It uncovers invalidation faced by youth in home, school, care and health sectors.

Just found this - what a great illustration of the challenging circumstances some young people face 👍
🎥 On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we're thrilled to introduce our latest project: 'Just Surviving,' created in collaboration with the incredible @aardman animations. An animated journey born from the real-life experiences of those impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). 👇
