On our street, everyone is welcome. Together, let’s build a world where every person and family feels loved and respected for who they are. Happy #PrideMonth!

I have worked for two Presidents, briefed two Presidents. We don’t want a President sitting in the Oval Office who wouldn’t demand exactly this. It’s literally your job to be prepared for it.
this is an absolutely bananas complaint to have about the Vice President of the United States

This was a great article that really illuminated some points about my own fascination with Plath. I wasn't as far away from Plath's New England as Brazil, but it seemed just as exotic and removed from the realities of my life in pre-internet rural south Jersey.
As a teen growing up in Brazil, @sallyjaygorce devoured “The Bell Jar,” which provided an intense, emotional context for the American suburban culture she found so alluring. Returning to it now, she sees the novel in a different light: theatlantic.com/books/archiv…

With the death of buzzfeed books coverage, I'm actually noticing the NY Times books newsletter looks a lot like buzzfeed. 12 novels you have to read in may. 22 books to read this spring. Is the listicle one of the horsemen of the media apocalypse?

This is the second tidbit I've heard about dystopian being back! Other was from a bookseller!
Does publishing know dystopia is ready for a new wave? I'm a teacher & my students are begging for it. They're reading the old ones--Hunger Games, Divergent, Matched etc. They need new ones. They're hungry for it. Recs? Any new YA dystopia recently published that I missed?

NPR says the new John Mulaney special lacks substance. Yeah, that substance is cocaine!
