This day 150 years ago was a pivotal one in Welsh football history.
Samuel Llewelyn Kenrick’s response was published in the Field agreeing with the idea of the creation of a @Cymru team but one under Association rules. He’d even arranged the meeting!
wrexhamheritage.wales/a-marl…
Tonight will be the 19th meeting between @Cymru and Belgium, 11 of those meetings have come in the last 12 years…nuts!
Crys am heno!
Not so applicable these days thankfully, but how many of us remember saying this at past October doubleheaders!
We're looking for Welsh footy fan stories; do you have an interesting tale that recalled by you and your mates to this day? Perhaps a keepsake to remind you of it...a first game, a major result, a poignant moment?
It's all a part of Welsh football history...tell us your story!
Calling all football fans of Wales! Your new museum needs your fan stories!
Today is National Sporting Heritage Day and we're launching a callout for Welsh football fan stories! #NSHD2025
With the grand opening of Football Museum Wales in 2026 getting ever closer, we are now reaching out for fans of Welsh clubs and country to share their tales so they can be recorded for future generations to enjoy.
It could be an experience you had at a classic (or not so classic) match you attended, a chance encounter with a Welsh football hero, a memorable event at your local club, or just a special footballing memory from your childhood you’d like to share.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from you if you have a personal item of football memorabilia to accompany your story.
Whether it’s your local Welsh club or the national team, all these stories are part of the rich tapestry of football history in our country - we want to collect as many as we can!
Get in touch with the Football Museum Wales team with your story by emailing [email protected]
