Offering an alternative view of what is typically associated with ero-guro, the second "Grotesque" volume of Momoiro no Kansho carries on from where the "Erotic" one left off and features a wide range of works by Taiga Utagawa, exploring his influence on the genre from Gothic horror, to Edo-era detective stories, and yokai manga. The book also includes works based on classic and legendary Japanese figures such as Okiku and Oshichi Yaoya, as well as a number of horror gekiga by the brothers Juan Maeda and Kai Maeda that were originally published in the legendary Black Ace magazine. Sourced directly from hard-to-find gekiga and true story magazines, and reprinted for the first time since their original publication, all works in this book are officially licensed under the Orphan Works Licensing System.
