Defenders are basically given two options when a QB takes off running: 1. Prepare to tackle him. But if the QB waits until the last second to slide, the defender has already committed to the hit. Now people want the defender suspended for hitting a “defenseless” quarterback. 2. Back off and assume he’ll slide. But if he doesn’t, he can just keep running. We’ve literally seen this happen. Remember Kenny Pickett faked a slide in the 2021 ACC Championship Game and took it for a TD. We’ve gone way too far protecting quarterbacks. They’re football players too. Once a QB decides to become a runner, the defender has to be allowed to defend him. If a QB wants the protection that comes with sliding, he needs to get down early, well before the defender has already committed to the tackle. Dante Moore waited too long. That’s on him.

Whether you think the hit was dirty or not.. what you want him to cry on the sideline. Its football, we know what we signed up for

Alot of yall in the comments dont know NOTHING bout football. This is VERY common.
Chargers DC Chris O’Leary on dropping EDGEs in coverage: “The thought process is to get a free runner, get a sim pressure.” “If you leave him in the rush and you blitz, now you’re compromised a bit.” “Occasionally we got to,” on dropping an EDGE into coverage.

Not just special teams. This is legitimately one of the greatest football plays I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t get much better than that right there. Every coach in America will be showing this rep to their team this week.
This might be the best NFL special teams performance by a player ever caught on tape… This man is a SAVAGE.

We live in an era where guys are okay with losing as long as the camera man got that flick for them. I had teammates that hated to lose more than they liked to win. Guys focused on In-N-Out and what the next caption is going to be more than being focused on their job.

1. People hear this and say, why’s it got to be so complicated, make it simpler.. but if you know the game, this is very simple 2. This is why the game is 🧠 & 👁️ long before it’s about any physical skills 3. Ppl think bc they watch football, they know football. Not the case

Is the Gap of knowledge between casual fans and coaches/players higher in football than any other sport? I feel like it has to be, no avenues for casual football playing pretty much outside of high school stops all learning of the game for 99% of fans.
