TREES ARE WATCHING: Bahman Ghobadi (Turtles Can Fly, A Time for Drunken Horses) has made a horror film. Starring Eva Green. World Premiere. In Centrepiece, but the vibes are absolutely MIDNIGHT MADNESS. tiff.net/films/trees-are-wat…
So…. There’s a @mmadnesstiff adjacent film getting announced tomorrow for #tiff26 that I don’t think anyone is expecting. And from a pretty major director to boot. I am so elated that we were able to include it. Intl.arthouse & horror fans are gonna be both sated and seated.

Canada doesn't own land on the US side of the border.
The DWBIA doesn't own land.
Read the Canada-Michigan Agreement 2012.
Michigan, or relevant US federal authorities, own land and lease for purposes of ensuring the project proceed expeditiously. There is no fee simple land transfer anywhere.
And all of this is under joint ownership (Can-Mich), and international oversight.
Let's not conflate ownership with roles and responsobilities in construction, and the financing arrangement.
The only thing that's changed here is Trump, who:
* took ZERO issue withe the arrangement, broke ground on the Gordie in 2018;
* decides in 2026 he wants to federalize the bridge, take ownership away from Michigan;
* lost touch with the truth around US steel, workers, and apparently land ownership in the project - and is counting on Americans to be low information about it;
* created a trade war that he now wants to use as context for an old bilateral, bipartisan agreement that should be lauded

Canada is America’s top customer, supporting a U.S. trade surplus in manufactured goods, while also providing affordable and reliable energy that fuels the U.S. economy. Thanks for the discussion, @ChrisCuomo.

The CPC strategist is mistaken. They think they can move the needle tapping into the idea of "who Trump likes less". While in reality what moves the needle is "who is less like Trump"!

.@RealDonaldTrump says Canada has a 250% tariff on U.S. dairy products.
Here are the FACTS:
Tariffs are only in effect when Canadian imports exceed 13 million gallons of milk; 27 million pounds of cheese or 11 million pounds of butter/cream a year.
Similarly, if U.S. dairy imports exceed a certain amount, a tariff kicks in on Canadian products.
We never exceed these levels!
And, they were set under the USMCA deal that he proudly negotiated.
