We knew this dance would be an incredibly emotional moment for @Annabel_Croft and her partner, @jojo_radebe tonight on @bbcstrictly but we didn’t know how Annabel’s story would unfold and resonate with our own, and with so many of those in our community.
This was a beautiful tribute to love 🧡

Listen to @elizabday ‘s wonderful and warm interview with @Dawn_French who talks about her beloved father’s death by suicide + her catastrophising in life-a result that the ‘worst has already happened’ so she worries about it for others in her life…our attendees feel the same ❤️
Didn’t think you’d be getting another episode of How To Fail this week, did you?! Well, today’s guest is the incredible @Dawn_French, so you can see why we had to make an exception to the usual schedule 😉

Today is World Mental Health Day.
At Doctors in Distress, our mission is to promote and protect the mental health of healthcare workers and prevent suicides in the profession.
In September, our founder Amandip was delighted to receive the Caroline Flack Mental Health Hero Award at this years The Sun’s Who Cares Wins Awards. Amandip said, “I don’t see myself as a hero, but felt I had to stand up for what I believe in and help protect the mental health of those that care for us.”
Actress and mental health advocate Emily Atack also highlighted the importance of talking about mental health and keeping that message going.
If you are a healthcare professional and need support, we have a range of programmes happening this Autumn. Head over to our Eventbrite page for more information and to register tinyurl.com/z3349uy9 💙

💬 On #WorldMentalHealthDay, it's great to see people talking about mental health.
The conversation has come so far but people living with mental illness need to see meaningful change.

It felt time to talk about the tragedies that shook my life back in 2012.
I’m a different person than before then and I wanted to explain why.
If my story gives hope to those experiencing profound grief then the pain of sharing it will be worthwhile.

WE WON! 🏆
Congratulations to our amazing founder Amandip Sidhu, who has won the Caroline Flack Mental Health Hero Award at this year's the Sun's Who Cares Wins Awards.
We are so incredibly proud of Amandip, and amongst such tough competition, his win is a testament to his dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment to providing mental health support to healthcare workers.
Amandip said: "I am truly honoured to have been nominated, let alone successful in being voted the Caroline Flack Mental Hero at the annual Who Cares Wins Awards. I don't see myself as a hero, but I felt I had to stand up for what I believe in and help protect the mental health of those that care for us. This award also goes to Doctors in Distress's cohort of trustees, ambassadors, staff and volunteers who work so hard to help achieve our missions."
Amandip, we are grateful for everything you have done for us and will carry on giving our all to helping those who help us 💙
We would also like to say a huge congratulations to all the wonderful winners and nominees for their incredible achievements ✨

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day
This photo was taken on this day last year when we were walking between the UK parliaments spreading a message of hope.
There is help out there but we need to smash the stigma around suicide and get talking about suicide prevention
