One of the hardest parts of being AuDHD is feeling like people appreciate the way your mind works until it challenges their own. You can spend so much time trying to understand other people, noticing the little things and looking beyond what they say, only to realise that same curiosity and emotional depth isn't always returned. You don't expect everyone to think like you. You just want to feel understood without having to explain every part of yourself. Sometimes being different isn't the difficult part. It's realising how rarely people try to understand those differences.

Being autistic is being told your intuition, intelligence, and pattern recognition is wrong, then realizing you were right all along. Then being really scared.
