Happy to share our Perspective on #microglia #pruning and help to answer the questions of whether they are hunters or gatherers of brain #synapses

Unsolicited advice for young (and not so young) researchers: in the age of AI, be yourself.
AI writting may be technically perfect but is boring, flat and souless.
As an evaluator of grant and fellowships, I want to know who are you, what makes YOU stand out from the rest.
Not to mention that writting is a craft that requires dedication and training. If AI does it for you, you'll never learn to communicate. And more importantly:
*Writting shapes our thinking*
One of the perks of science is sharing beers watching sunset from beautiful Plentzia with such a talented group of scientists 🫶
@llinas_marta , @JulirosaNeuro, @maitesolaszu , @LabDomercq , @rosa_paolicelli , Izaskun Buendia, Arne Battefeld, @SoriaFN , @CapetilloZarate and me

Sobre las estancias investigadoras, particularmente las post doctorales, y su valoración en los currículos de acceso a contratos de talento o a plazas en universidad y centros de investigación.
Voy con un pequeño hilo.

Poppies are my favourite flowers. Their bright red is the color of the summer.
Ephemeral, like beauty and happiness.
We live in the era of big data ... and little biology.
Papers nowadays are mastodontic, of exhorbitant costs, displaying a gazillion glittery graphs with little biological insight. Oftentimes I am left wondering...so what?
Back home after an a-ma-zing Nobel Microglia Conference at @karolinskainst organized by the ever fantastic Klass Blomgren and Bertrand Joseph @Joseph_Lab_KI .
What an honor to be among these fantastic scientists and wonderful friends
Feeling blessed 💜
Looking for a topic to discuss during the Christmas dinner? scientofic evidence in favour of the Dunning- Kruger effect.
In Spanish we call them "cuñaos" - relatives who always know more than anybody else about every possible topic
"If policymakers and science communicators can convince influential thought leaders from political, religious, or cultural groups with whom people holding anti-consensus beliefs identify, then these thought leaders may be able to alter their followers’ views."
The discussion is worth reading word by word and it will definitely affect how I do science outreach in the future .
Kudos to Steven Sloman and colls. @BrownCoPsy 🧠🥂💪
Our recent review on #microglia containing brain #organoids is getting a good reception!.
Please reach us if you want to discuss the topic

We discuss limitations of current protocols (including statistical analysis!) and provide recommendations on validating the immunicompetence of microglia in the brain organoids.
